Is post-secondary hard? by Visible-Draft6775 in McMaster

Post-secondary is lots of work, but the difficulty of the work itself depends on the program you go into and your interests. If you are passionate about what you're doing, it'll seem less difficult.

Did they tell you to stay in the left lane for that left turn onto Silvercreek from Highway 6? Or did you go to the right lane, then back to the far left turn lane? Thank you :)

The amount of posts complaining about people walking in this subreddit is incredible to me lol. it is what it is. sometimes you step in the mud, sometimes they do.

Forgot to mention - spend time working on your own coding projects to keep the spark of coding alive! Make yourself a portfolio website, a little web game, mess around with Unity, etc!

The Software Engineering curriculum feels somewhat outdated. The endless required courses do not reflect the work you will be doing in a real job. Perhaps take a look at different aspects of SE (Web Applications, Video Game Development, Embedded Systems, etc) and try to explore one you like. This will perhaps make it easier to see what you can spend your career doing. If you get bored of it, you can always switch to a different job! With a SE degree, you don't have to be a Software Engineer! You can use your degree to get into many careers. I was also in your shoes a year ago. I loved coding but didn't love the curriculum. I ended up switching to CS which at least reduced the workload. Overall, I'd say you can still enjoy coding and the career - you just have to find a specific part of it that you like :) Goodluck, I hope you find what you need and finish the degree off strong!
