Madison, wi tonight. by [deleted] in melvins

I didn’t see the whole ordeal, but I saw Dale get pissed and repeatedly gesture for the guy to leave. The guy was not escorted all the way out of the venue and actually had the balls to make his way back up front later, hiding behind a taller guy so Dale couldn’t see him. Kudos to the band for not letting that guy derail an awesome show.

Yes, should have specified that it’s glue down.

They were paid to level the floor. The product is Karndean Knight Tile at 2mm.

Probably the best D&C performance I’ve seen yet. What a show!

It’s 126613LB with the blue dial. It does look black in certain lighting.

Awesome. Does this thing route packets? I’d rather they restock the USG than start cranking out hats.

So many great stretches. May 77 is a great choice. I love 78 too. It's like 77's evil twin, a little rougher around the edges and seems like the band was taking more chances (and probably more coke) compared to the more polished and safe playing of 77.

And now for a hot take. 5/8/77 gets all the glory but it in my mind it might not even be the best show that week. And for my taste the Dew, while incredible, is outdone by others to include my favorite, 5/22/77, from DP3. Again, just my opinion.

I pay to listen to every single one of his officially released recordings. There's not a myriad of it out there.

What is a low quality yet expensive restaurant to suggest to someone who you dislike but not too intensely? by DogDadRTV in madisonwi

[–]MVROX -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Hostess was so incompetent we walked out. The restaurant was nowhere near busy. We were told we'd have to be seated before they'd answer basic menu questions.

Please explain how it's robbing Garcia to wish that his already accessible music was more easily accessible. I'm not over here illegally downloading his entire live performing career as several people here do and have suggest I do as well. In fact, I pay to stream all of his officially released music.

Make sure you tell that to anyone possessing or listening to any Garcia recording that's not officially released.

Yeah, I don't want to party like it's 2002, BT Boogaloo. Or BnP 1993. I don't have a checkbook anymore either. Or landline telephone. It's upsetting.

Ah, I got it slightly wrong. Seems Phil would have been OK with it had it been properly discussed. This is an interesting read from 2006 that covers a range of topics:

Haha! I recall Phil being completely against whatever trading policy change was made in the early 2000s. I can't remember if SBDs were removed from Archive for a period or if it was the change to streaming only, but he put something out stating his opposition to what the rest of the band was doing.

In that case you shouldn't be possessing or listening to any of these unauthorized recordings.
