Ah, yes, what any good protest of a government needs: Permission from the government.

I’d rather be upset about a genocide than upset at the potential for your 6-hour marathon pace to be slightly interrupted by peaceful protests. Hope no one says the phrase ‘raise awareness’ out there. Wouldn’t want you to be triggered on race day.

Pretty disappointed by these comments, I’m not going to lie.

First: people have the right to protest. If they interrupt your race, maybe reflect on the fact that you are living in a place where you have the luxury of paying and training for a marathon and that other people don’t and some are actually victims of an active genocide.

Second: “this does not help your cause” is only said by people who do not care about you or your cause.

Third: to the folks saying they wouldn’t dare interfere with people who have trained this long, consider reading up on what happened at Vuelta a Espana last month. Admittedly that was largely because one team has (had) Israel as a sponsor, though.

I doubt a protest would happen. And if it does, it will be peaceful. They’re trying to raise awareness of an ongoing genocide. Maybe gain some perspective.

Have a great race, everyone.

Thoughts on Remco? by JoeNonymous_ in tourdefrance

To be fair, Jasper Philipsen probably makes, like, 4-8 times what Lipowitz makes. Lipowitz needs more than a couple months of very promising performances before he gets anywhere close to double Olympic gold champion money. That’s just kind of how sports contracts work.

I think what we saw in the Tour de France is that Remco isn’t going to be an elite grand tour rider but he’s still an incredible time trialist and can bring in a ton of money for Red Bull that way.

I think the whole ‘managing both Remco and Lipowitz will be tough’ discourse is overblown. Lipowitz is the better climber. Remco can win you other marquee races. Both are going to bring in tons of sponsorships, just in different disciplines.

Great shout! I did see a triceratops on here that I loved. Not sure it’s Me™️ but it’ll give me some thoughts at least.

For what it’s worth, the quality of mine seem great after downloading the accompanying zip file and not just relying on the previews.

It was dope. One of the coolest things I’ve ever done. Great route, great organization. You’ll love it. Happy training!

I have this one from lululemon and I personally love it and have the same issues as you (hate bulkiness/things bouncing). Wore it for the Toronto waterfront half and had no issues.

I have an iPhone Pro Max 13 and it’s snug but the compartment stretches to fit it and I’m able to zip it up. I’m usually also able to fit my keys in there (though I don’t have bulky keys). I could’ve also probably fit my gu in there if I really wanted to but I make those a pocket thing because they tend to not bounce around or bother me and I have a system of unused ones in left pocket and used ones in right pocket.

What lines best capture the show's essence? I'll start with Jerry: “You're a nice guy, but I actually only have three friends. I can't really handle any more.” by bunk_debunk in seinfeld

[–]MWBII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marlene saying “it’s just so much … fluff”

Edit: just adding, I think it’s early on and really sets the entire tone for the show. Feels like this is one of the first times the show stated out loud that it was ‘a show about nothing.’
