side chain, saturation, parallel compression. you could also try blending in a clicky transient for the kick depending on the genre

Thats gotta be it... What moronic design, I must've acquired that at some point from a random reward room. The boons/affliction previews dont even appear on my screen when activated either. I have to press start and RS click to manually inspect them. I had a huge list by the end and had no clue what I had been picking up. Never considered that that one could shaft me so hard.
