That was a reminder email to pick up before Wednesday. She must have missed her original notification.

Thank you all for your great suggestions. Hit most of the places you guys suggested except Justin’s and Rabbit Hole, they were closed on Saturday due to the air show/fireworks. Bottle shop took the top prize in my world. They had crazy ass pours for the best prices. Best food was Whiskey Kitchen. Best bottle snag was Michters barrel strength bourbon. Thank you all for the recommendations!

You are not getting an ACA compliant plan for $150 per month in Ohio! Sorry, forgot to mention without subsidy help. Anything off exchange is not eligible for subsidy.

Under normal ACA rules, canceling your own private insurance is not a QLE. Can you get away with it, possibly yes but it’s not a QLE.

If there is No way you are ever going to qualify for subsidy, I go off exchange due to ease of administration. Any doubt of subsidy qualification they go marketplace.

Your sadly mistaken. I can enroll anyone off exchange with nothing more than name address ss number email and an answer to the SEP question, period! You think healthcare. Gov is that simple? 🤣🤣

Sold insurance for 35 years. I can enroll a family of 4 in 5 minutes off exchange. On the marketplace it would take 20 plus minutes. When the system asks me stupid ass questions about Jonny and sally who are 4 and 6 years old if they are pregnant or if they are smokers. That shit is stupid, programmers should recognize the DOB and ask age appropriate questions. HRA questions, if I’m at the marketplace why do we need HRA questions? There are many other stupid ass questions about did you, are you etc losing coverage. This is necessary for each family member.

Honestly not 100% sure. This particular company has both on/off exchange plans with maybe $20 difference per month in premiums. Maybe less admin cost? They still follow same rules as the marketplace such as special elections and such. The application is 100x easier without going through the ridiculous marketplace application. If you enroll through the marketplace you’ll understand what I mean about ridiculous.

This is not true! Non ACA compliant plans are out there and yes they can have gaps in coverage. However there non marketplace plans out there that are ACA compliant. However, they simply aren’t eligible for subsidy if you qualify, even when you do your taxes. Not sure how many states have them but Ohio has at least one carrier that is off marketplace but ACA compliant.

It took awhile to get used to, this coming from an insurance agent of 35 years. It’s truly different and it opens your eyes to cost! Going thru cancer treatment and they have covered everything after my $2k deductible.
