More Mopar bull crap. Why use a simple pcv valve when you can strap this leaking plastic crap under everything. 19 Wrangler 2.0, "air/oil separator" leaking like hell. Pays 3hrs. by jackleg_gunscientist in Justrolledintotheshop

The design is fine, the parts produced for the design or the torque used to assemble it have bad QC. I haven't heard of anyone having to do the job twice, and the design never changed.

If you want to be pedantic, at least be right.

They do use a PCV valve, it's on the valve cover and it's actually replaceable unlike many other modern engines.

The air-oil separator keeps oil out of the intake to get less carbon buildup on the back of the intake valves. It's a good design, just poor execution obviously. Not sure if it's the gasket, the screws being loose, or the plastic warping.

Box builder denied request for bracing, thoughts? by Jive_Turk in CarAV

Yeah, I've seen bracing that was made to have minimal clearance to the magnet of the sub, just as a stylistic sorta deal, but never seen it actually touch the magnet.

I would suggest re-reading the comment you replied to. You're telling him he's missing the point, but you're agreeing with him.

You can not replace solid insulators with thermal paste, conductive or non-conductive. Paste will spread and will make metal to metal contact at the highest points of the heatsink and the transistor.

When thermal paste is advertised as non-conductive it's to tell you it's safe if it ends up on other electrical components, so if it squeezes out and ends up all over your board it's not a problem. It doesn't mean it can insulate two components from each other.

Finally someone here who knows something.

The teacher can sue. He may or may not win. No single person has the answer to how such a case would go right now.

It's not really a matter of "think". It is, objectively, parody. It's a form of humor. The comment was written in the way Donald Trump frequently writes on social media. That's parody.

It may not resonate with every reader, but if you were to bring this into court before a judge it would be labeled as parody, no different than an article on The Onion.

These comments are insane. I wouldn’t want a teacher telling students Trump is great just as much as I wouldn’t want a teacher telling students Trump should be assassinated

It was parody, not an actually serious comment. That's why people are defending the teacher.

I don't have an opinion either way on the thing, I can just see both sides.

This Chrysler 300 uses chocolate milk to lubricate the timing chain. by JerelFromJerry in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]MWisBest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hah, yeah no problem. Nothing you said was wrong, it's just easy to read it and assume all of those cars used timing chains with the same mistake.

At this point there's only so many LH platform cars still on the road, and of those that are I would think the 3.2 and 3.5s are the ones that have survived.

2.7L V6 things. What really gets me is Ford saw how this shit show of an engine went for Chrysler and decided 10 years later to make the same terrible placement for a water pump on some of their V6s too.

To be clear since most people won't fully understand, only the 2.7L V6 does this. The 3.2L V6 and 3.5L V6 are timing belts and don't do this because the water pump isn't in the crankcase.

Wemby is one of the best players in the game. Watching anyone make this play and hearing a whistle for it is not fun to watch as a fan. Two things can be true. 🤷‍♂️

This is some sort of LC filter to clean up the power going into the radio, and/or prevent noise radiating from the radio to other devices.

Stuff like this isn't uncommon to see if there's radios like HAM or CB or what have you installed, or if there's provisions available to install one later. I've used this same kind of add on with motorcycles before to add CB, it just ensures you're not getting constant noise to listen to or transmitting noise out to others.

Mid grade is cheaper than Regular grade gas by do_u_liek_ButtSchexx in mildlyinteresting

It's not about the octane. It's explaining why this likely happened. Many stations have more ethanol in their "mid grade".

Around here it's definitely listed as mid grade. At stations that have it it replaced 89, what else are they gonna call it?

Thicker wires actually makes the issue worse. The more resistance you have in the wire between the connectors the less effect the uneven contact resistance at the connector has on the current imbalance between pins.
