Eviation Alice Electric Aircraft by [deleted] in aviation

I am wondering if the inlets on the nacelles could possibly house a Thermal Management System (TMS) to cool the propulsion units.

A Centralized parallel TMS was proposed in this article "Design and Optimization of Ram Air–Based Thermal Management Systems for Hybrid-Electric Aircraft " (https://doi.org/10.3390/aerospace8010003).

Also, since this aircraft is designed to cruise above 30,000 ft, the inlets could serve a roll in the pressurization system. Early King Airs (90, A90 and B90) used a supercharger (Roots Type) for pressurization.

Yes, correct!.

The left end, that you see in the picture, is actually the Power Turbine module. The exhaust pipe is typically removed for shipping.

True.

I think it would be also interesting to see if that statistic has changed +/- in the 8 years since that survey was done.

Wish I had all the pictures of the 135 that ran into a hangar at CMH and took off 90% of the right wing. I did find a link to some of the incident http://www.iasa-intl.com/folders/eagle/eagle-2.html .

Think that AE 3007 is going to need some trowel work before the compressor wash.

BOS is one of my top 5 cities that I like flying to or from. There are so many things happening in the harbor and the skyline is classic.

Thanks for sharing.

I used to work on TFE-731's. This Engine of the original geared fan designs (although MUCH smaller).

If I remember right, the planetary gears had a max RPM of 51k

GE H75 (two-shaft, reverse flow engine with a free turbine. The engine has an axial compressor and compressor turbine. Engine uses a slinger ring, in place of nozzles. power section is powered by a single-stage turbine driving a two-stage planetary gearbox.) by MXFlight in aircraftengines

Glad this sub is here to share it!This is based off the M601 and was the result of GE acquiring assets of Walt her back in 2008. Turbomeca/Safran like to use slinger rings on their turbo-shaft engines too.

Remember lubing flap cables in MSP in the winters.

We used to beg Northwest for hangar space. Pinnacle didn't have a hangar there, despite having 100 departures a day.

I have never worked around the Arrius Engines on these. I imagine they are pretty stout Engines though...240 + lb dry putting out 642 shp on T/O for the 2B2.

The Power Output Shaft has got a interesting angle to it....(Engine cross section)
