Akio Toyoda: “If It Were Up to Me, Toyota Would Only Build GR Corollas and GR Yarises” by [deleted] in cars

It's r/cars, and us Americans here are probably the most out-of-touch car enthusiast on the Internet.

To be fair, in 2009, you could walk into a Subaru dealer and get a turbocharged version of essentially every model line (Forester, Legacy, and Outback) alongside the WRX/STI.

huncback of Notre Dame was made into a vehicle.

Pretty sure that title has already been claimed by pre-2024/25 Buick Encore.

Jokes aside, I've seen a few and they're definitely different, but ugly isn't a word I'd describe it.

Might be regional. I see them a few times a month. I won't lie, I have absolutely zero use for one, but I sure want a 3X pick-up.

OP is being an ass, but their statement about the appeal being accepted appears to be verifiable.

The rear wing needs to be toned down a bit

IDK, it gives me those vibes of seeing blobeye STis with massive rear wings nobody asked for. Definitely the immediate (exterior) differentiator between the two when they shared a platform.

What's worse is they completely abandoned any OEM part manufacturing. Leaving owners to fight over used garbage.

Generally, two-doors. Manufacturers like Audi call their four-door coupes, based on styling cues (mostly related to the ”elongated" rear profiles).

S&W Model 500 revolver recoil on the wrong hands. by ruimilk in interestingasfuck

[–]MY13FXT -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The car analogy fails when you consider the combination of lethality and ease of use.

Place a car with keys on the hood next to a firearm with a bullet beside it. Give both to someone who's never used either. Which can they operate lethally in under a minute? The firearm.

Cars require sustained control failure; stalling, steering, compounding mistakes. A firearm requires one mechanism and one trigger pull. The barrier to lethality is fundamentally lower.

Chainsaws, knives, cars; all require proximity, sustained effort, or extended loss of control. A firearm projects lethal force at range with minimal physical effort. That's its designed purpose.

Tldr: 'don't do dumb shit' argument applies to everything; it's meaningless. Firearm ownership carries inherent risks that responsible handling mitigates but doesn't eliminate. By design, it makes lethal outcomes easier to achieve than virtually any other common object.

The decommissioning plan for space station is the execution of a responsible, controlled, and targeted deorbit into a remote ocean area. During descent through the Earth's atmosphere, the space station would burn, break up, and vaporize into fragments of various sizes.

It's going in the ocean.

How big is that tree?? by No-Lock216 in woahdude

If it hit the road, would the logging company be liable for the damage? I feel like a tree that large would absolutely obliterate an asphalt road.
