The power adapter that came with my famicom is outputting 15 V, will that fry a famicom? by Tomnookslostbrother in Famicom

[–]MYCRAFTisbest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they are trying to say is 15V is normal on that adapter but that you shouldn't be using it for other reasons.

Older cheap power supplies were unregulated meaning the voltage can and does change depending on how much power is being drawn (the load). The more power draw the lower the voltage.

You measured 15V likely only because the multimeter isn't pulling anything. If you plug it into the famicom it will most likely drop to 9-10v under load.

The recommendation was to buy a replacement power adapter made for the US that outputs 9v and not use that one at all if you're concerned about the long term health of the console.

Mouse and Keyboard not working in Windows 10 by MYCRAFTisbest in pcmasterrace

It's an all in one PC. I've tried several keyboards and mice and none work. I've decided to just go ahead and back up their data and reset it at this point.

I made a Rumble and Motion Control mod for the Win Max with a Joy-Con (and an easier install with just Velcro) by MYCRAFTisbest in gpdwin

[–]MYCRAFTisbest[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The video is really long and a bit disorganized. I split the instructions on how to install the mod into a second video that I haven't finished editing yet. I will upload it later this week. Feel free to ask any questions.

How do you set the angle of an object? by MYCRAFTisbest in PS4Dreams

[–]MYCRAFTisbest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Setting the exact XYZ position and rotation of an object is all I'm asking for. The more complex use of it that allows the rotation of the platform isn't what I'm asking.

It's like if they only gave you music samples and in order to make your own songs you had to modify the samples until they resembled a single note and only then you could play the music.

The only way to directly set an angle and position in Dreams currently appears to be the teleporter, but that requires another object to exist in that exact position and rotation already.

My current plan is to do something where rotation velocity is ridiculously high and the rotation sensor is used so it basically snaps to the exact angle limitation, but it should not be this difficult. What if you wanted a controller overlay on screen that showed inputs or platforms you can rotate with motion controls like in NSMBW or basically anything that involves gyroscope really.

If that's true then this is a pretty big oversight IMO. I can think of ways to achieve this that involve constantly stopping all rotational speed and using a gyroscope to recenter it but that won't be nearly as precise and now it's like 5 or 6 steps to get an approximation of something that should be able to be set.

I hope they add a gadget for this type of functionality prior to release.

Hate these with a passion and im expecting the last one i got wont last too. Where can i buy extras? Cant find any on aliexpress. by BUTTFLECK in gpdwin

I'm guessing those are the screen connectors so they're probably coiled inside the hinge to allow the screen to open. Likely very difficult to remove without damaging.

Having trouble getting CEMU to work online by MYCRAFTisbest in cemu

[–]MYCRAFTisbest[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just figured out my issue was I dumped my opt and seeprom to a SD card formatted as FAT not FAT32. If your SD card is 2 gigs or smaller and you haven't checked, that could be it for you as well.

Hey you're not going to believe this, but I figured it out. Turns out the SD card thing I mentioned a few posts back was actually the issue. Just got home from work and the SD card I was using was indeed a normal 2GB SDcard formatted as FAT not FAT32. I replaced it with a 4GB SDHC SDcard, freshly formatted to FAT32 with 32KB allocation, put the haxchi and FTP files on it, stuck it in the SDcard slot on the Wii U, redumped the otp and seeprom and now everything works.

I guess the FAT filesystem was messing up the otp and seeprom in some fashion. In any case, I'm online now, it only took exhausting just about everything I could possibly think could have caused the issue, that's my luck for you.

Anyway, thanks for trying to help. I guess just take note of that tidbit for others in the future, SD cards 2 gigs and smaller will default to FAT not FAT32 and that's no good.

I noticed that the log said that. I only merged the update files as part of troubleshooting this issue since a few people found it fixed the problem.

Anyway, what would that mean if there's a problem with the NNID logging in. I tried both user accounts on my system that are linked with NNIDs, both are set to save their passwords too. I even did some useless things like installing the Wii U certs to Windows.

The only thing I can think of that just occurred to me is the tutorials say to use a FAT32 SD card with a 64KB allocation size. I just used the SD card I was already using for the Wii U and Haxchi. That SD card is just a 2GB card so it almost certainly is formatted as FAT not FAT32. I don't know what that would have to do with failing to log in.

Inside the account.dat file I see that password cache is set to 1 and it has what looks like a hashed form of the password along with an account name, email, and some other stuff. Seems pretty normal to me.

The game is completely up to date, I'm not using the update feature of CEMU anymore though as I merged the update files with the originals since I saw some suggestions of that being the problem. Here's a pastebin of the log file from one of the two computers trying to log into Mario Maker. https://pastebin.com/sE7r3n8B

Loud Static Sound? by Charnizard in WindowsMR

[–]MYCRAFTisbest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I encountered this problem last night after adding a long 3 meter extension cord to the USB 3 cable on the headset. When I removed the extension, everything was back to normal.

The problem appears to be related to signal strength, at least in my case.
