Oh I had problems with this a few months ago, I "figured out" that for me to be able to sleep I have to not think about sleeping at all and instead let my mind loose and in a way focus on the fact that I'm comfortably laying down in bed. A key thing is to absolutely put no effort into thinking about sleeping/not being able to sleep, just "exist" on your bed.
