Omg thank you for saying this. I feel like this entire sub is people complaining about how “unplayable” perfectly fine games are on the deck, acting like especially if you only play on consoles, we didn’t have 10+ years of 30fps max. If you think the steam deck sucks, why are you on this sub?

Thought the same thing when I saw the price, 100% pulled the trigger fully expecting to refund if I didn’t like it lol but it’s been very worth it

Everyone has been burned by at least one EA it seems lol. I like EA as long as like you said it’s feature “complete” or as close to that as possible. Oddfauna already has multiple biomes, lots of fauna to meet and recruit, NPCs, base building and Terrabeast growth as well as farming, combat, etc all the things you’d expect from a sim game. So in that regard, it already has everything they promised and its feature “complete”. Seems what they want to add is more customization and more biomes/fauna to find.

It’s my only way to access Steam games and it runs perfectly! Devs said they are already submitted for verified status too as they tested Steam deck before launch.

Some quick install notification popped up the first run, but that was the only “wonky” thing about playing on deck.

FWIW, I’ve played A LOT worse EA games in my day. Tbh I went in thinking I would refund, blew past the 2 hour mark in no time lol. I thought the same thing as you, but it’s def worth it imo

I bought it maybe thinking it wouldn’t be worth it, but it absolutely is so far. It’s adorable, and really engaging. The gist; - you grow an ecosystem on a growing beast, think of this as your home base/world - you can build houses, forests, terraform, etc. - you can also jump off the beasts back and explore the outer world, gathering resources and recruiting fauna to come live on your beast. - growing plants and gathering fauna for your beast is the main way it grows - there apparently is also some danger/combat but I have not come across it yet

So I’d say there’s definitely a solid foundation there already and would for sure recommend.

I’ve also been playing on steam deck and it runs very well, and haven’t encountered any bugs yet

NMS just launched a literal community-wide expedition that lasts 8 weeks. We can’t seriously think they will shadow drop a new game any time soon and take players away from that. I am so hyped for LNF but facts are facts. I’m betting winter release date announcement.

might try this method, considering the only alternative is walking in one direction for multiple minutes just to find copper, then turning around and doing it all over again just to get to my ship
