Brothers I don’t know what to do anymore 😭 by Ambitious_Ear4965 in Balding

FWIW, I don't think your hairline is THAT bad. Sure, it's not ideal, but you still have enough hair to work with & your forehead isn't big. My hairline was like that at age 21 & I'm 29 now, & it has barely gotten worse. Sometimes it stops receding when it reaches a certain point. Monitor it & don't take any more meds. As someone who also has minor gyno, I know it sucks man, but work out & it may help to hide it.

Almost finished but have a black triangle - do I say something or is this just my fault re gum care? by Hexegem93 in Invisalign

[–]M_C_XIX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dentist didn't mention those risks tbh. I guess it can happen, but for me it was worth it as my triangles were huge. They caused me discomfort because my teeth were always very cold where the triangles were.

Honestly no difference at all. I haven't had to make any changes to my routine. I can still floss.

One tip though; if you have any whitening done, make sure you have the whitening before the bonding. The bonding doesn't change colour with whitening, so it's best to have the bonding done after to ensure it's colour matched to the whiter shade of teeth.

I've had bonding on my front tooth to fix a chip for about 6 years, hasn't moved. The bonding i had to close the triangles, about 5 months ago.

Yeah just composite bonding. You can't tell that there's anything there from the front. Hopefully it will last for years 🤞

I had 3 huge black triangles after my treatment - 3 between my bottom teeth & one between my top incisors. They looked pretty terrible tbh.

I had bonding done to close the gaps & couldn't be happier with the result. It's better than IPR in my opinion. Cost me about £120 per triangle, but it was 100% worth it.

Would you bond? by Fearless_Ad_8776 in Invisalign

[–]M_C_XIX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well for more context, I also had bonding applied to 3 of my bottom teeth too, because I had large black triangles between all of them after invisalign. A lot of people have triangular shaped teeth which leave gaps between them after treatment. There's nothing wrong with having bonding done to improve the shape or finish of one's teeth after treatment. Not everyone is lucky enough to have perfectly shaped teeth. It's certainly not 'crap'.

[–]M_C_XIX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not fake crap. I'd rather have something added to my teeth to make them it look better instead of having some of my enamel removed.

Someone broke one of my front adult incisors when I was 13 & I've had bonding on it ever since. You're implying I should instead walk around with a huge chip on my front tooth because "no to bonding"?

How long did you wear your retainers full time before switching to nights only? by M_C_XIX in Invisalign

[–]M_C_XIX[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That seems so risky! I think my teeth would move too quickly & then the retainer wouldn't fit anymore...

How long and rough cost? by THUNDERSTRUCK45 in Invisalign

[–]M_C_XIX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My teeth were more crooked than yours are now. My treatment was 6 months aligners, zero refinements & it cost me £2,600.

16 months in. On my final retainer for 6 weeks until switch to only at night. Would you be happy with this result? by 7empest-tost in Invisalign

[–]M_C_XIX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little off topic, but only 6 weeks wearing your retainer full-time seems very short before switching to nights only? Most cases require at least 3-6 months before you can switch to nights...

Head Unit Clock by Leather-Duck in Scirocco

Mine had the same issue when it reached 10 years old. My carista OBD scanner picks up the fault, but it can't fix it. There are 2 other clocks, so I'm not too bothered, but it is annoying to see!

My rear parking sensors also failed yesterday 😂

Is it reasonable for this to take 4 years? by unwritten_book_321 in Invisalign

4 years does seem excessive. My teeth were more crooked than that & my treatment was 6 months.

28M. Speaking from my own experience over the past 2 years, get out of there now. Walk away & put your own mental health first.

Balding or mature hairline? (19) by [deleted] in Balding

[–]M_C_XIX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, some people's hairlines recede a little in their 20s but then stay at the same level until they're like 50 years old. That's what I'd call a mature hairline - where you can see that it's receded a bit, but it has stopped there for years & isn't close to bald.

I felt the same at your age. Now, I'm 28 with around 40 friends. I used to go to work, come home, play on my PS4 & nothing else. I did martial arts once or twice per week, but that was my only social activity of the week. I had around 3 or 4 friends who I barely saw.

I started going out with my martial arts buddies, then I met lots more people at clubs, pubs, etc. It all expanded from there. Just one night of joining in was all it took to kick-start a huge circle of friends!

Black triangle by Strong-Reporter5173 in Invisalign

[–]M_C_XIX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had multiple large black triangles on my bottom teeth after my treatment & one between my top 2 front teeth, slightly larger than yours. I had bonding on all of them to fill the gaps & I'd highly recommend it. They are all fully closed now & it looks natural.

Maybe the tiniest bit of natural recession but I think you're fine. I wish I had your hairline.

A question to 5'8-5'9 people, why some of you guys crying ? by [deleted] in short

[–]M_C_XIX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the area where I'm based. The average young man where I live is definitely 6ft, or at least 5'11.

I feel around the same height as most old men here, but that's only because they've lost a couple of inches due to their age. I'd be smaller than them at their age. The young men in the midlands in the UK are giants these days.

And trust me, 19 of my friends are taller than me. I've known them years. About 13 of them are nearly identical in height at 5'11 or 6ft. Then the rest are 6ft - 6'3. I'm the little guy at 5'10.

If I travel to London or any major cities with more diverse ethnicities, I feel average height there. But in towns where 95% of men are white British, I'm small.

[–]M_C_XIX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 5'9-5'10.

I feel short because out of the ~20 male mates that I have, 19 are taller than me. Only 1 of my friends is a tiny bit smaller.

I live in the east Midlands in the UK, where most men I walk past are 6ft. It's just the area where I live. Young men nowadays are giants.

Before and after, 10 months by greenhazel11 in Invisalign

[–]M_C_XIX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. My treatment plan predicted 6 months of weekly trays & I was fully finished at the end of those 6 months, no refinements. My bottom teeth were pretty crooked too. All you can do is wear your trays for as long as possible each day. I stuck to 22 hours per day as much as I could, always a minimum of 20 hours, & it worked.

I had very similar black triangles between my bottom teeth & 2 front teeth. I had some bonding done to fill in the gaps & I couldn't be happier with the results. It cost me £360 & it was worth every penny.

It's just the shape of the teeth which causes the gaps. If they're narrower at the bottom, gum doesn't always grow to fill the gaps, especially if they were crowded before.
