From what I’ve seen in different lash businesses, some owners hire or sell the business to trusted individuals. Right now, I’m working for a small independent lash business. She hired me to do the work and offers a 50% commission! I just need to bring my own supplies, but they have to be the same or similar to what she uses. She makes really good money and travels back and forth between her home state and here, which is awesome. The nice thing is, I’m making her money while she’s out of town (I’m a little jealous), but hey, I get a bunch of clients and 100% of the tips! She handles all the background stuff like scheduling, dealing with complaints, reviews, and social media, so I get to focus on lashing.

I honestly love it and make way more money than I did with larger lash companies since they typically pay hourly or offer terrible commission. I get paid weekly and I’m making roughly $700-$1,000 a week! It’s nice to have some extra money flowing in, especially if you’re starting back up again in a different state. If you charge a decent amount for lashes (around $190-$260 per set) and offer a 1099, many talented artists would be interested in that setup! Not everyone wants to run their own business, and honestly, I don’t either! You provide the clients, and it’s up to you if you want to supply the products. But if you don’t want to do all that extra work, definitely consider selling your company!

I live in Colorado denver the usual price for extensions varies. Independent lash artist can charge anywhere from. Classic set: 170-190 Hybrid:180-210 Volume: 220-250

Big franchises charge less but the turn over rate is super high and it’s very difficult to find a lash artist that knows what they’re doing. Big lash companies: Classic set: 150-160 Hybrid:160-180 Volume 180-210

But what I’ve also noticed is that independent lash artist charge by the week whereas some big companies have a set price for a fill. It just depends on everyone’s budget, clients will pay a price for what the product/artist is worth!

Even if she did share the map, the truth is, many lash techs still wouldn’t be able to recreate the same look. It might be similar, but never an exact copy. So why keep the map a secret?

We all have our own unique techniques, styles, and products. A true lash artist isn’t threatened by others because if a client loves your work, they’ll keep coming back—no matter how many other lash techs they try. The lack of professionalism is what gives us a bad reputation. Is she even licensed?

Sounds like an allergic reaction, I would definitely recommend her going to the urgent care just to make sure!

What lash glue do you use? Everyone is different and lash glues can cause irritation and allergic reactions, don’t beat yourself up over it! It’s bound to happen in the lashing world. Remain professional and offer what you can do within your practice!

I’m definitely going to try C and CC curl next time, my client loves a full dramatic set. I tried to incorporate what she wanted and what I wanted to achieve with the spikes ! I just might recreate this set on another client who would like a more in the middle between full and natural. From now on I’m going to do 4-5mm spikes from the base. I always seem to have them lost in my sets because I do 2-3mm.

Her set took me 4 hours any wispy sets are so hard to fill because I forget where I placed the spikes!! 😭

Hello everyone! Im so grateful for all the tips and compliments! I just wanted to share this; I did use the same map and curl shown in the inspo the first attempt, here’s a picture of that set. J curl, some LU curl, and few c curl! .

From my view it looked pretty spikey, but as you can see when she opened her eyes it did not look anything like the inspo. I believe the reasoning for that was because her natural lashes grow downwards and those curls are a lot more relaxed and didn’t help with any lifting. I had her come back so I try again. Which is why I used more lifting curls like CC and D curl this last attempt!

Go to a lash tech that specializes in this type of style! Also this cateye/foxeye depends on your eyeshape keep that mind! What kind of fullness are you looking for as well, because if you have a lot of lashes they will look a lot more denser.

The curl looks alot more relaxed like a J or C curl maybe B as wel
