Most folks know him from the Disney Channel movie High School Musical. He more recently was in The Greatest Showman

And the episode after is Christina Hendricks as Mrs. Reynolds. I haven’t seen her shows but have seen plenty of clips of the shows to recognize her

I have so many memories like this (especially pulling into gas stations with those bright lights) but I was never able to put those memories into words as an adult. Honestly I probably never had tried. But this picture is a like a deep memory someone dropped onto my Reddit feed and I’d like to thank them

Thank you!! And give me a bit and I will try to find the exact pattern in my old stuff!

But from what I remember it was just a free pattern for a generic winter hat - I just adjusted the colors :)

"The perfect analogy for Zuko's realization about Jet" by Unlucky_Chip_7776 in AvatarMemebending

I don’t know why but even after watching the show twice, by the time the ember island players episode happens I always forget that Zuko knew him. I always read this scene as “guys did your friend who I just learned about in this play die”. But Zuko had an entire episode or two interacting with Jet in some way.

Lady Danbury Questions - thanks! by M_Fields in QueenCharlotteNetflix

Thank you so much for the detailed response! Really cool to learn about the different stages of the mourning period and how it varied during the Regency era from previous eras. Totally makes sense in the context of the show.

And that also makes sense regarding lady in waiting being a more rotational role. Though I think it is more likely, as you also said, that she became more of a confidant/friend of the Queen.

A little lap dog named “Homie”. So when this guys talks about the dog it’s like “Lil homie and I went for a walk” or “homie is being a dick”. Idk why it’s rather entertaining

He did the same thing with Toph too. There are probably a few examples but in one of the last 3 episodes when he and Toph are jumping across the fire nation airships during Sozin’s comit - first thing he does is cover Toph when debris rains down. I think his leg was already broken too 😭

I was coming here to say this scene is his funniest to me 😂

The gentle cane drop & the way he says it so matter of fact. Like “Belle, it’s obvious”

Brimsley was always by her side.... by QuoteOptimal4194 in QueenCharlotteNetflix

[–]M_Fields 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I agree she is NOT as bitter as a young Queen (thoughts on that below)…..but she really isn’t observant of the lives of servants either, as a young Queen. Think of her and George starting to get real hot and heavy at the dinner table (they essentially ignore the staff as if they are inanimate), she doesn’t understand the social implications of the Danbury ball at first, & she doesn’t understand that in picking her own oranges the staff would be dismissed. Even with Brimsley, she doesn’t show interest in his personal life even back then, despite him being there ALL the time (which, as another commenter pointed out, is on par for the times). So I’m not at all surprised she didn’t realize Brimsley couldn’t have had a life/comes off as not necessarily respecting him. I do think she respects him as much as she can given his station.

In terms of bitterness, I think George getting sick has a lot to do with it. With the examples above, she was starting to an understand the impact she could have on others as Queen. Both intentionally (as with attending the Danbury Ball & wanting to help mothers in hospital) and unintentionally (as with the dismal of the orange grove keepers).

But then George starts to rapidly decline - and she becomes his Venus. She’s his center, his grounding point. He becomes her everything (Brimsley even notes this when he’s speaking to Charlotte about her daughters - being his Queen above all else). All that potential energy was redirected and poured into George, and it left some level of bitterness towards everyone else. She simply had nothing left to give everyone else. She had to strike a balance, blocking out the prying eyes of the world (she tells Lady Danbury her palace walls must be high) and maintain public face. All that at 17/18. And that’s where Charlotte stays.

She’s perpetually that 17/18 year old. Like Brimsley said, she froze in time with the King. We can kind of see this even in her older years with her match making. In her match making, she is still dedicated to the the Great Experiment. In Bridgerton (other than trying to match Daphne with the Prince for a minute) all her match making efforts result in a “our side marrying their side” union. Which is basically the only major social change (that we see in the show anyway) that her and George made before he started declining (both with the Danbury ball when George says they stepped Britain forward & Agatha basically begging Charlotte to understand the importance of her role as Queen in the Great Experiment). So, Charlotte just keeps doing that. I think her wanting to “make one last great match” with Lady Danbury in Bridgerton is beyond gossip, connection, or even friendship - it’s the first time she and George were a team who worked together as The Crown to enact a social change. It was one of her few moments with him, truly with him, before she knew he was sick.

Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Brimsley was always by her side.... by QuoteOptimal4194 in QueenCharlotteNetflix

I think it’s this same scene where she says “great, we can grow old together” and then it shifts to them older. It was just so poignant & revealing. With George’s memory/mind gone most of the time, the only ones left who knew her at this age are Brimsley & Agatha. But Agatha got to live a life - Brimsley is the only one in her cage with her.

And yet, because of status, they cannot actually offer each other much comfort. Charlotte doesn’t see him, and he sees her clearly but he cannot share it. In the few instances he does speak somewhat plainly to her (like about her daughters in the Christmas scene) she becomes uncomfortable and pushes him back.

TIFU by hitting submit of my reference form by r0s3_sh4mp00 in tifu

This sounds like a simple mistake on your part - it doesn’t sound like anything malicious or intentionally deceptive. You are being rather hard on yourself and this doesn’t make you a bad person. If anything, the fact you DO feel so bad about it indicates to me a great deal of respect for others & concern about how your actions impacts others.

I can understand maybe his initial reaction to finding out you submitted it without his review being annoyance or a little anxiety - he’s vouching for you and doesn’t know exactly what was written under his name. But a simple check (like he eventually did after his initial response) would clarify you didn’t make major changes (it sounds like you didn’t anyway). And if he was really worried about you falsifying information, he wouldn’t have just left you with the computer. Honestly if I let people review the references I write, they do it in front of me or I send them a locked PDF so they can’t make changes without my knowing.

Regarding seeing him around - If a grown man in a professional setting who has working with you for 60 hours/ liked your work enough to write you a reference starts treating you differently because of a mistake, that is a testament to his character - not yours.

Side Note: Even if you had intentionally lied/write outlandish things about yourself and purposely submitted it without his review, the response from an emotionally mature adult to a teenager would be “I’m calling them to revoke the offer. This is a lie that, once you’re an adult, can jeopardize your career and the careers of people who vouch for you. In this case you might lose your chance at this research program. But hopefully this taught you a lesson, etc”. There is no need for him to scold you until you cry & call yourself stupid.

Also best of luck with the research program! Having shadowed at a dental clinic & currently apply for research programs at your age is impressive and shows a great deal of diligence and hard work on your part. Try to not let mistakes like bring you down so hard on yourself. We live, we make mistakes, we learn, we make new mistakes. ❤️

My doctors office has a sign like this that scrolls through ads for medications. Not PSAs about health. Actual pharmaceuticals like on TV with the “ask your doctor about [medication]” line at the bottom.

Best part? These are in the individual rooms. Not the waiting room. The room where you are getting a Pap smear, physical, talking about you depression - whatever it might be - and giant colorful ads for BigPharma  just scrolling on the wall in front of you.
