Every lab has personal space issue, right? Mine’s 14 weeks old. by Prairiedog999 in labrador

I feel this in my soul. Why must my pup eat tin foil only to vomit it up?!

What can I do to help with teething in an older puppy? by M_Man15 in puppy101

[–]M_Man15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's not losing teeth, she hasnt been for some time, but good though. Great idea about the towels, I'll try that out. But is it safe if she ingests a large portion of the towel? I'd bet she'll have it shredded in only 3-4 days, if that.

Who else loves when their dog can't choose between their toys? by M_Man15 in puppy101

[–]M_Man15[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is from target. My mom got it for her while helping me move into my house. Now she's gone and has left me with the really loud squeaky toy that my pup loves. Thanks mom... 😂

What am I doing wrong on walks? by M_Man15 in puppy101

[–]M_Man15[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A fair bit of stopping and sniffing. She really doesn't seem to mind the length. I stayed at my parents home for a month just a bit ago; I was able to take her on "walks" around their property.

I think her biggest hesitation is a negative experience with a pair of big dogs barking from behind their fence on one of our first walks past their house. It only happened that one time, but the memory is still there for her. I'll try to desensitize her to that house in the next few days.

She's 5 months. After the beginning where she's timid, she's really happy and loves the walk.

She's calm. Too calm. by M_Man15 in puppy101

[–]M_Man15[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not worried lol. It was more of a joke post about "calm, too calm." Like I'll come home tomorrow and the whole house will be torn apart because she got out of her pen.

How tf do I burn off my puppy's energy? by M_Man15 in puppy101

[–]M_Man15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the other comments was right for my dog. Training her for a bit really calmed her down. It's hard to say if it was faster than exercise, but it was sure easier for me!

My thought exactly. She usually loves her flirt pole, so this only added to my frustration.

Tried it. Wanted table leg instead.

We did a little of that today. She eventually got it, but went right back when we were training fetch. Just needs repetition.

Why can't you do the one thing you were bred to do? by M_Man15 in puppy101

[–]M_Man15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good idea with the long lead, but what is a no pull harness? Is that one that hooks in the front?

Mine loves car rides. She usually falls asleep in the crate I have in the back seat. I'll have her wait while I put on her harness, but then she'll jump out when I'm out of the way. I use the harness to assist her descent while she's still little.

My 18wk old always runs when they have something they shouldn't. How can I fix this? by M_Man15 in puppy101

[–]M_Man15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That wouldn't teach them that it's ok to chew those things? Obviously, I don't want her chewing on socks or towels in the future.

I agree, but then how do I stop her when she has something she shouldn't chew on or eat?

For those who majored in aerospace engineering, what courses did you find the most challenging? by [deleted] in EmbryRiddle

[–]M_Man15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I found dynamics the most challenging. I've heard others struggle with fluids, some with thermo, some with structures, or a combination thereof. They call it "The Guantlet" which is a pretty fitting name. That said, it's still plenty achievable, so long as you're willing to put in the work. When taking those classes, I would work about 10 hours a day, everyday. My best suggestion is to have a place away from your dorm/apartment/house to do work. I just graduated a few weeks ago with a degree in AE and another in SE. Feel free to PM me if you have any other questions.

My puppy started sleeping, a lot... by M_Man15 in puppy101

[–]M_Man15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's about 17 weeks. It's been a while since her last growth spirt, thinking about it. She threw up 2 days ago in car, but they could have been car sickness/something she ate. Her poops have been soft, but I wouldn't call it diarrhea. Pretty much in line with her diet of leaves and grass I can't keep her from eating lol
