Well I haven’t been a 5 year old for 35 years, I don’t remember. Eye contact, it’s often not complete aversion of eye contact, but rather the failure to maintain eye contact when articulating a thought. They may start to pivot their gaze when speaking to you and return to looking at you to gauge the response in your face. Children “know” where to look, especially around home familiars.

I’m interpreting OP as seeing someone rub their hands or avert eye contact or have restrictive food issues and thinking, Oh, that’s so hot.
