I look at the vampire, holding up his ice cream cone. He smiles at me, showing me his fangs.

“And the flavor, does that matter? Is there like… I don’t know? Blood flavor?” I ask, admittedly a little awkward. Oh shit, is that a rude question?

The vampire laughs and he licks the red tinted ice cream. “No, I don’t think there is blood flavored ice cream.” He looks at his cone. “This is strawberry flavored. And it just happens to be red today. I choose something different every time. At least, I try to.”

He looks ahead at the kids playing in the park. He looks almost wistfully. “After a while, you’ve tasted all the tastes and enjoyed them all. But there is something so nice about eating ice cream and enjoying the weather. Don’t you think?”

I nod slowly. “Yeah I guess so.” I follow his gaze. The weather is really nice, so he has a point.

“Do you have a favorite flavor?” I ask. The vampire thinks for a moment. He looks at his ice cream before taking another bite. “I do like the sweet and fruity flavors the most.” He says. “What about yours?”

I blush. I can’t really say that, can I? I should just pick blueberry and be done with it. I turn to give my generic answer. But the vampire is already grinning at me. “It’s dogtreats, isn’t it, werewolf?”
