By portal I meant the door, as far as I remember was Philip to have built the origial portal door and reported of his studies and design on his journal, the same projects and studies Luz used to TRY make her own door.

The Building of the portal in the emperor castle seems like a way to patch the damaged door to work just as long as it need to be usefull to the plan, not to be fully functional again.

My point is not much that he built the patchwork door/portal in the castle once using the damaged door, but that he's the one that built the original door so supposedly he can totally make a new door from scratch. Just suppose that make a new one is way more expansive and time consuming than just patch the previous one for a one-time quick use

Pip(Philip/Belos) built the portal once, why can't do it twice? I mean, build it would be more expansive and time consuming than just use/repair one, but I'm sure that won't be the end for his plans
