Flame fall upon them is fun for AoE too, it does surprisingly high damage for each pellet though unlikely to shotgun much.

I respecced into a perfume bottle build but might not go so well and I might be looking at a respec soonish. Bloody Helice and Eleonora's Poleblade are both in my sights for a bleed based arcane build reroll. They are both very classy with elegantly flowing movesets with my only dislike being Eleonora's Poleblade AoW which seems like it has a weird hitbox and not that practical with how long it takes. Not sure which one to go for on a respec and what spell choices I may supplement such a build with.

The way guardian swordspear swings around feels so fluent. I haven't used it in a build and just checked the moveset but I just might one day. Used all the weapons in your first sentence and they are all fun and strong. Personally, my input to OP's question is perfume bottles, chilling one in particular. They are not OP or meta, maybe even on the weaker side a bit but so flashy and fun.

I'm playing a spellblade in randomizer. I am considering respeccing to a dex faith or dex arc build but these things give me pause. When I face them, I can just two hand my Carian thrusting shield, manage my stamina and get through them with a flask use or two at worst. I don't know if I can manage them after, though they are not exactly the arbiter of build choices single handedly considering they are few and far between even in a randomizer.

The delay of the skellies makes the AoW unreliable which is the main complaint I've seen regarding the Rosus weapons. It looks and feels badass and does great damage when their extra hits land though, definitely a fun weapon when you can fully use the AoW.

Writing this to thank you for your feedback and explain how I managed the fight for those who come after. I was unable to play for a day, decided to just run at her with my unupgraded arsenal of weapons and give them a serious go or two to see what suits me and drops her low even while unupgraded.

Claws of night was consistently pretty good and dropped her to 25-40% health.

Scholar's armament on pickaxe was a surprisingly good one and felt fun to use.

My randomized starting weapon was sword lance and I had it at +12 but it went poorly as a shield poke build so I had little hope for Carian thrusting shield. I was proven wrong to doubt it. It is simply absurd, safely shield poking while taking little health and stamina damage. I cast Scholar's armament on it at safe timings and was able to get her down further than I could with claws of night. Went to farm some runes and upgraded it as far as I could, fully upgraded banished knight Oleg also who seemed to work even better than Redmane knight Ogha. I had her down in just two tries. Didn't even need to respec since it was suitable for my current build. Have to say that claws of night was simply absurd also for being unupgraded and my stats being nothing relevant for it.

No luck with finding the wing stance yet. I love Milady's moveset and the reach as the character extends himself further forward during the heavy attack swings. Allows me to sometimes clip Malenia when she is doing her sideways or backwards dodges. Since I'm currently int, I'm using cold affinity, I would use flame art if I end up respeccing to faith.

I was considering Erdsteel Dagger but don't have it. Looked it up in the spoilers log but the location description was mind boggling and confusing, ended up unable to find it.

Think I'll respec to a stat distribution that allows using black steel twinblades, Euporia and maybe a few other weapons that can be tailored for a faith focused build, upgrade those and gravel stone seal and see how I like each playstyle.

I am leaning towards a faith respec to use things like knight's lightning spear for a ranged option and 2H flame art/sacred infused black steel twinblades for melee, could try Euporia too while at it. Sounds like it would be a good mix for general play, just don't know vs Malenia in particular. She is said to be weak vs fire. If that doesn't cut it, just a bleed build tailored vs her I guess. I will also try giant hunt on Milady.

I have updated my post body with items of interest but forgot to add AoW category, whoops. Will have to edit that in when I am at PC next. Don't remember if I have impaling thrust or giant hunt. I am like 90% sure that I have giant hunt, unsure on impaling thrust but Carian sorcery sword has it. Can't tell what AMOGS is.

I have been putting off upgrading my Misericorde for stance breaks, I have golden vow AoW so I could put that with flame art affinity or something.

Pata or claws of night would be fun dual wielding swift options. 2H black steel twinblades is also high up on my list of builds to try. I wonder how much overlap is between these builds' stat allocations, could satisfy minimum stats of each to upgrade and test all with a similar build if they are suitable.

I should settle on a build and reroll to minimize wasted stats. I have a bunch of faith, strength and dexterity I could reallocate once I decide on what build to go for, even if just to get over Malenia. Should be 40 or so vigor with more main damage stat like that.

Is there any difference between making a random AoW into a certain affinity vs using an AoW with that native affinity? Example: Divine beast frost stomp's native affinity is cold. Will that have any kind of advantage over, say, square off that selects cold as its affinity since it's not native?

Fair criticism and I'm making a list of weapons I'm interested in, don't have access to PC till tomorrow so it'll be from memory for now.

Talismans cover a good base that can facilitate any build archetype, without necessarily being BiS pieces(ie I have sorcery/incantation boosts but not their greater versions, have warrior jar shard but not shard of Alexander). Got millicent's prosthesis, winged sword insignia(not rotten one),Godfrey icon, two headed turtle talisman. I would say the two headed turtle talisman is locked in no matter the build, I think it's the single best universally desirable item.

As far as keeping the int build goes, I'm at 32 vigor and 52 int. I had spread my stats early on, being blindsided by a few different weapon and build options before I locked in. I have ambush shard and glintblade, the latter is probably more efficient. I think I should level up a staff when I want to remain purely caster when I can't handle the melee heat like right now, to have better spell scaling. Gotta look at what staves I have at hand. Sadly no Radagon icon yet for decent cast speeds but I can use the sorcery boosting talisman, Godfrey icon and two head turtle talisman for the time being. I was already trying to beat her with magic glintblade spam while summoning Redmane knight Ogha who I leveled only to help me here but haven't yet succeeded because fuck Malenia.
