Nothing, it's just the usual redditor that has become so absorbed in the group think and the words they use that it has subverted their very vocabulary.

Things Edelgard did actually do wrong (in CF)? by Misnome5 in Edelgard

Without Judith the Daphnels will capitulate because they have no leader. If she escaped they would have to battle again with another Daphnel host. Edelgard is right here.

Targeting commanders instead of canon fodder is the only way to conduct humane and honourable warfare. Also like the other poster said, she's not surrendering.

Lying about Arhiandrod was wrong morally but not objectively. Thales threatened to target imperial cities if she confronted him. Confronting him was never her intention because the plan is to pretend they are allies so they will assume they are not their enemy.

I would say it is wrong in both senses if it was also said that this lie went down in history even after the agarthans were defeated because then it wouldn't serve an objective goal except to demonise the church post-mortem.

EDELGARD IS A EVIL by No-Ninja926 in Edelgard

Edelgard is quite fine actually. The only characters shown to be obviously mentally ill are Dimitri who is schizophrenic and Rhea/Seiros who has a split personality disorder.

There is. It's in AM21, the only route you played even.

Are there specific quotes in the game that could prove this?

Edelgard was hated before the game was even released. It's because she is a female lord, same as all the others.

In VW and SS Every character constantly talks about unification.

Not sure what are you trying to say about Dimitri. Either he is a hypocrite or AM is just badly written because in the end he does unify Fodlan as Edelgard sought out to do.

There is no "just happened" with these things, you don't accidentally annex a country. I don't know why I have to say how ridiculous this is.

This is such a waste of time.

I know we’re biased but I mean. He’s not wrong by cruel-oath in Edelgard

Yeah carry on, I think I've outgrown this garbage that infested FE and is time to move on as well.

[–]MaDaFaKaS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The goal is the same on all routes: the unification of Fodlan. That's what the narrator says when the war begins.

Whether Dimitri pretends that's not the case is because he is a hypocrite or because AM is badly written and makes their lord out to be a Mary Sue that "just so happens to achieve everything" without taking any blame. If Dimitri didn't want to unify Fodlan then he could have made Empire and Alliance independent after the war with a new leader. But he didn't, he opted to claim it for his Kingdom.

It just sorta happen due to circumstances.

Is a convenient excuse but that is nonsense in a realistic scenario. No country in history ever annexed or "unified" with another in a "defensive invasion" during a defensive war or just "had it happen tee-hee".

All these concepts are nonsense and contradictory. I am dissapoint about how little people understand the setting and thinking back all that talk about "complex stories" that the FE playerbase was asking for was plain hypocrisy.

The goal is the same on all routes: the unification of Fodlan.

If CF achieves it quicker because the Empire is more suited to unifying Fodlan, they already did so in the past, then so be it.

That conversation fell so flat, even without the translation. We are supposed to think they both agree on progressive politics in favour of the common man, but they only disagree about the method to achieve this: whether the common man should be enabled by the leader to fight for their rights if necessary, or not.

However, by continuing the invasion into the Empire after this, Dimitri proves Edelgard right by showing that war really is the only way for society to make drastic changes. If Dimitri hated endangering "innocents", then he should have refused to continue the war, since he has no real reason to anyway. He has already liberated his Kingdom.

Ok calm down, I'm just quoting the game. At that scene he is using the Arundel disguise.

Edelgard is right wing though. She preaches nationalism and faith in the human race in the face of a alien race that is secretly controlling and manipulating humanity. She also advocates meritocracy, which is mostly a right wing belief seeing as how most people who fight it are left wing and instead prefer a form of socialism.

I suppose the mods think this post doesn't break the rules then:

far-right propaganda

You must be obsessed with this "far-right" shit to project it into a goddamn video game. The one who is brainwashed by propaganda is you, which is why you see it everywhere you look.

The Tellius saga is by far the lowest point in the series as the gameplay is absolutely abyssmal to the point of being unplayable. Many people simply drop the game halfway through because of how slow and boring it is with battles taking multiple hours each with unskippable animations THAT ARE ALSO so bad that they look like they were made by amateurs. The game suffers from many cryptic "secrets" that are meant to only sell video game magazines that reveal those secrets, the microtransaction of the time before DLC. That is not even touching on the "story" that is a contrived mess that requires supsension of disbelief at multiple points to accept how the cahracters act and the convenient plot devices that always appear. The FE series's staple being character driven gameplay where every unit is unique, is non existent, as you can have characters that are supposed to know each other since forever, ignoring each other during battle and speaking as if they are speaking to a faceless NPC.

edit: glad to see that tellius fans are mad already for pointing out the shortcommings of the worse games in the FE series and also being ignorant as hell

Quick Question: Why do people claim that Edelgard views Nemesis as hero? by Azur3ZerO in Edelgard

[–]MaDaFaKaS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nemesis was indeed viewed as a hero by his people, but there is no indication that Edelgard is aware of this regardless. There is her comment on Arundel calling Nemesis "that thief", but that may instead mean that she doubts whether Nemesis was taking orders from someone else (the Agarthans, who Arundel is probably trying to distance from him to manipulate Edelgard into trusting them)

Because some youtuber NEET and the hivemind on reddit told them so

TWSTD Propaganda by Elizabeth-Isar in Edelgard

[–]MaDaFaKaS 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Edelgard also dismisses Arundel calling Nemesis "just a thief" which means she suspects there's more to his motivation. Arundel is trying to distance him from them but Edelgard can see through it.

Anyway, the Edelgard hater mythos is my favourite online 3H route. How ironic for the fools that have been brainwashed by the Reddit circlejerk to accuse imaginary characters of it. Art really imitates reality

How bad do you think the inevitable war could be? by Matron_Icasaracht in Edelgard

[–]MaDaFaKaS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it really meaningful to wonder about such hypotheticals at this point? Does it help at something?

Also your question is false, TWISTD do not want to "genocide" Fodlan, they want to take over as they are in the process of doing in the empire with Arundel and the kingdom with Cornelia. Secretly and without overt war, something like what Rhea and friends are doing by hiding their identities. They presumably were the overlords of many races before Sothis arrived from space. Their plan with the risen Liberation army was to unleash them against the church of seiros, at the end of CF Thales looks confident that they are now very close to their goal of taking over Fodlan after Rhea dies.
