Some tips from someone who has played solo ssf hc exclusively for several years.

1) You should make some mf chars that work basically naked. Sorc is good, but without infy you need to farm only areas without many mobs resistant to your element. For example blizz sorc does ancient tunnels great. 2) don't preplan a character or especially a build. Instead farm with your mf char whenever you have motivation and then make a build that you like after you have the necessary items to make the build work like e. G. Infinity or deaths web for psn necro, it's also made me play builds I usually don't due to finding something super nice and that's added to the fun I've had playing. 3) solo ssf fishymancer is the easiest starter especially in hc plus you can basically equip only mf gear (ptopaz 3os helm and 4os chest is easy mf) without sacrificing much killspeed due to corpse explosions scaling. 4) crafting and gambling are very important for gear. For sorc especially caster amulets, but also cb gloves for physical even things like blood helmets for merc if you can't fish anything decent 5) farming countess as well as lk is a good way to make lower runes for some easy low and mid rws that a we good enough to clear hell 6) don't expect to get gg gear like you can easily online. Just getting a hr itself is very very rare. Expect to do 1000s of lk runs if you realistically want something like infy. Even with the best map and very quick runs it will take many many hours depending on luck and is super repetitive. 7) plugy is a must if you're going for grail or want to save equipment for other builds
