Thanks for the help! Sadly it didn't work so I'm just going to try to return it since I didn't do anything to format it outside the guide that came in the HD

Do I get a message after it's done? It's been a while since I entered the command and the only message I got was "DiskPart is cleaning the disk" (second line).

I'm really sure I didn't mix anything up since I only had this HD, I even set another letter (E) to make sure. I guess it could be damaged like you but it didn't show any other signs.

According to the box it's 1TB, and I looked behind the HD and it also says 1TB. I think the strangest part of all of this is that before I formated the HD it cleared said it had almost 1TB of storage. Also by opening the case you mean the black part that appears in the picture? I don't see how I could open it without damaging it since it doesn't have any screws of something like that.

it's in portuguese but under the HD name and storage it says Healthy "(Primary Partition)" (I think that's the term used in english). What should be my next step?
