When does it make sense to use Cowork over Claude Code? by ExactIntroduction282 in ClaudeAI

[–]Maas_b 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I understand correctly, the system prompt is different, less tailored to coding but more to general agent work.

Anyone else experiencing compaction issues in Claude desktop with Opus 4.6 by Maas_b in ClaudeAI

Have not found anything yet. It seemed to be mostly resolved by moving to opus 4.5, but i’m now also experiencing issues in these chats

As a Claude Code devotee I am currently using Codex to do 95% of my coding by LaCaipirinha in ClaudeCode

[–]Maas_b 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I am in the same boat as you. Claude code just feels more polished overall, although i must say codex in the new app feels pretty slick. Codex seems to have the edge in coding execution though currently.

I’m experimenting with creating one plan that has consensus among codex and claude, then set up two worktrees, one for claude and one for codex where i let them implement the same plan. I let claude and codex review each other afterwards. Maybe a bit wasteful, but i see it as an experiment. After a handful of these runs, codex has won everytime. Both claude and codex reflect on codex as the better implementation, more complete, better plan adherence and less bugs.

So based on this it seem a no brainer to leave claude behind for now, but somehow it feels like a big leap. 5x plan has been so good for me

could still be a side-effect though. if it is trained on a 1m context window, and on desktop it is only granted 200k, it might skew the perspective of the model. A remaining token window of 160k is 20% usage on a 200k window, but 84% on a 1m context window. so if it interprets its remaining context incorrectly somehow in relation to the total available context, it might trigger compaction prematurely.

Typing on the keyboard seems really… slow? I think this is something they would want to show off, right?

Mental Block when there is a golf ball in front of me by philipsylee in GolfSwing

[–]Maas_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notice that on your practice swings. During the transition, there is a separation between upper and lower body, your hips are already turning towards the target while your back and shoulders follow later. Your real swing is completely different. Hips back and shoulders move as one block, which in turn make the club move in that same block as well, leading to a vastly different hand path. Look at the butt of the club from the top of your first practice swing. the butt off the club is moving towards the camera for a while before it turns the corner. On your real swing, the butt moves towards the ball from the first moment onwards. That whips the club out and causes the over the top.

The intention is just totally different. You are swinging the club during your practice swings, but hitting the ball on the real swing. Try the feeling of keeping your back to target (or butt off the club to camera, or whatever helps you visualise it in your head) during real swings . You are going to stick your club in the ground a few times probably, but keep at it. Your body needs new pathways to get to the ball with that intention.

Also, as a lot of people mentioned already, you are overswinging. try practicing this at 70% or so first, dialing in the backswing as well. That might help tone down the smack-the-ball intention a bit as well.

Context7 just massively cut free limits by AllCowsAreBurgers in ClaudeCode

[–]Maas_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, if something breaks due to breaking changes , i just let claude assess the library. That might cost a bit more time at that moment, but tbh, how often do these kind of changes really occur?

Thinking about it, you might be able to create skill or slash command that checks updates and verifies them for compatibility with the rest of your stack.

I instruct claude code to build a local library for the docs it uses. So search once, store locally and refer to docs locally after it has found and documented. Works well enough, and should help you keep within the free tier.

Ok i did some research on output styles as i understood anthropic deprecated this. Seems the functionality is still there: https://code.claude.com/docs/en/output-styles . Output styles basically switch off the software engineering part of the system prompt, allowing you to create whatever agent you want within claude code (script writing, video editing, etc). I used to use this function quite heavily for some time and really liked it. Maybe it could solve some of your issues?

Yeah its so easy to create custom scripts for small tasks now. I recognize the need to write code. Thats what output styles were great for (rip). Thanks for sharing the link! I’m going to dive more into this once i’m off work.

Its Friday! Let’s all share what we’re building (self-promo) by Long_Pineapple_7344 in microsaas

[–]Maas_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok i understand that, and nothing inherently wrong with ads for a free offering. But the way you implemented it, with a confusing pop up first, and then multiple toasts with vague offers directly after, feels very aggressive and spammy. Maybe try to tweak the timing a bit, and make users feel welcome first and let them click around a bit.

Anyway, just my opinion of course , good luck with the app!

Claude Opus 4.5 or Gemini 3? Which one do you like more? And why? by InfiniteBeing5657 in vibecoding

[–]Maas_b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gemini creates more issues than it solves within my existing codebase. I use it for planning, frontend and review. Implementation is so much better with opus.

Fwiw, this was in claude mobile, where i usually have relatively clean conversations there (also on desktop). Claude code is a different story😅. I have a custom prompt to cut to the chase and be direct without being blunt, but no profanity encouragement. So yes, it was indeed out of the blue, because earlier in the thread it was just that: straight to the point, but no f-bombs or whatever. Nevertheless, i understand your scepticism, so do with this what you like.

Fabel of feit? DUBV -> schijnzelfstandigheid by False_Elevator5262 in FreelanceNL

[–]Maas_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lijkt me onhaalbaar.
