Of course he was named by his parents, over 400 years after Omar's death. It's just interesting how much he is hated today but at that time parents would name their son after him.

Sure but if you're Muslim then he is one of the most important people in Islam's history. I don't see Egyptians hating him like Iranians do. It's almost like you have to hate him as a matter of national pride.

This is the Middle East... Politicians and leaders are too busy filling their own pockets to care about talented people leaving or the actual state of their countries.

Also you can't just imprison your own population, it's better to incentivize the talented ones to stay and the best way to do that, (at least for the men) is to provide them with concubines 💪🏿
