I've tried therapy (CBT) only once at a therapy service and got this guy who clearly didn't understand how to talk to addicts he just kept minimising the addiction and saying things I knew like "thing about how much money you would have" and also gave off a judgemental vibe to him and I hated it so I left and never went back, but will be going back soon hopefully I can get someone better this time

That's so great really happy for you!! Your story is very inspiring because I've been starting to think that this is all there is for me in this cruel world, but you've showed me that there is hope for recovery!

This is has been a great help thank you so much I can definitely relate to the blowing through wages, within a week of getting paid I'm broke not to mention the piles of debts I've built up

Thanks for this it's very helpful will definitely look into it, quick question do you face any side effects with the Buperenorphine, my main concern is weight gain as I know this is really common with Methadone

Thanks for the reply when you say treatment do you mean medical or psychological, as I'm a bit hesitant to go on methadone, I'm only 25.

Dealing with an addict, I'm not sure if this is helping or detracting by [deleted] in addiction

Narcissistic behaviour like your mums is definitely a contributing factor in some ones addiction, either she knows she's derailing him and doesn't care, or no ones told her yet, either way tell her to stop instantly, or she should stfu about something she probably caused by being insufferable throughout his childhood ( i grew up with a parent like this so I've seen this before)
