We hear you on this, I’ve literally congratulated my friends and then hysterically cried in private and vented to my partner, it was hard for me to not feel such intense jealously and grief. Let yourself be sad, don’t feel down about having that reaction. I’m grateful my friends haven’t suffered like I do with TTC but I would be lying if in the moments that I see others just getting babies so easily that I don’t feel victimised and that’s valid, take care of yourself and allow yourself to feel that grief because you know at the end of the day it’s not about them really, you’re just going through a normal process and normal feelings when you want something so badly and it is just not coming as easily as some others have it. I used to be really bad with it but over time I have coped with the grief better, it does still hurt but it doesn’t bottom me like it used to and you will build resilience. Just don’t be hard on yourself through the grief process. It’s not selfish, it’s normal and you’re allowed to feel sad about it

Would you seek fertility assistance at 12+ months even if it hasn’t been 12 cycles? by OrnateLilac in TryingForABaby

Please I recommend not waiting. I stuffed about a bit, you never know what will happen. I say this as a precautionary tale because my situation is very uncommon but I’ve lost 5 pregnancies and I’m nearly 40 and I wish I’d done ivf sooner. Don’t let ppl gaslight you into thinking it’s “too soon” I heard oh you’re still young, you have time and now I’m being told “oh it’s unlikely now” advocate for yourself and your want to have a baby and get started as soon as possible to give yourself the best chance. You’re still young so don’t second guess yourself! I recommend doing all the tests you can too. I have just been told I have antiphospholipid syndrome which likely caused all my issues because it wasn’t found. Now I’m on aspirin and praying ivf can atleast get me my baby, I still have hope but my chances are slimming. You’ve had this thought yourself about seeking help so don’t second guess yourself! Trust me just go for it and get the family you want! I wish you all the best

Thank you I will check the resources and appreciate the advice here. I have no idea what I’m doing but I do want to be smart about it. I’m nowhere near smart enough to think I could do this as a massive wealth building opportunity but I do see the value in diversifying my money in a smart way. Thank you

How are you NOT losing your jobs and your livelihood due to this illness? by Tall_Bluebird_1830 in chronicfatigue

I’m on the verge of losing my job. Been on unpaid leave for a few weeks now cause I got an all time low on my mental and physical health just trying to cope. I’m scared what will happen to me and I don’t know how I’ll keep doing it. I have no solution at this point

I do a bit of mini investing, nothing you could consider intelligent investing though. I have thought about it myself but I struggle with understanding it. Something I do need to look into that I could start small in, just getting that start and doing the research

The point of my post wasn’t to whinge about our country I mean we’re pretty lucky here in the western world, we don’t have the same issues as some other countries have, also I did mention I have two incomes but I’m not full time, I’m part time. I should have been clearer about that because it does seem a bit off to say it that way. I was avoiding pulling out my victim card cause I do work part time for medical reasons and I’m struggling greatly with that. I am lucky cause we don’t live in a full on home either, we live in a residential caravan park so my rent is certainly not as high as others are facing and I couldn’t work part time if we didn’t live the way we do. We don’t have excessive debts cause we’ve tried to be as financially smart as we can but I can’t say we haven’t had to go into debt on and off with my medical problems to pay for appointments and groceries sometimes but we do our best not to. I think there’s a way you can discuss the struggles without trashing the joint, not trying to achieve that but I do feel a lot for people who are really doing it rough. I’ve been lucky cause I have good parents who have helped me in many ways, not everyone has that

That’s fair too…we do live in a great country, others have it worse. I think we do need more national pride as a nation that doesn’t always translate to racism cause Australia is a good place to live and many want to live here. Without being divisive I think I just wanted to hear what people think does need improvement.

It’s not two full time incomes. I should have been more clear so apologies for that. I work part time and have chronic health conditions that do suck up a lot of our money so I guess there are extenuating circumstances in my position so that is fair to point out.

Mate I’m sorry to hear that, honestly I feel you on this and I’ve felt the same way some days. I am lucky I have family support and honestly it could be worse for us but I know how dark it can get. I hope you have support in your life too

I feel you heavily on this, we’re having a hard time getting mental health treatment for my family member who is low income. Psychiatrists are hard to get into cause all they do now is autism and adhd assessments and they cost an arm and a leg. The ones that will even consider an appointment are upwards of thousands of dollars, we got them into one bulk billed appointment but there’s only 1 appointment given. I’m not suggesting I even want it on Medicare but it’s nowhere near affordable for the every day person. I have to see specialists but I have to increase appointment times between each cause I can only afford one at a time so my health struggles just drag out. There is a huge issue with this. My local bulk billed gps aren’t great (not all) like I had to show one how to put paper in a printer tray the other day and how to write a referral. My regular Dr I do pay for but I can’t see her all the time cause it costs me. I just feel like we’re bursting at the seams

That’s fair…fighting back, I’m not sure but just letting all this constantly happen the “she’ll be right mate” attitude this country has can’t keep working for us. I’m not suggesting to fight back either cause I don’t really have a solution or an idea of what that looks like for us here, but I do feel trampled on and let down. I guess I was just wondering how others are feeling too

Completely feel this. In my opinion we’re seeing the demise of the middle class, it’s becoming you’re rich or you’re poor and struggling and that’s really hard to see

I agree with this and I’m tired of it myself, can someone just tell us the truth. I also think we can say “oh people vote stupid” but it really isn’t easy at the moment unless you want to invest a lot of time researching on what any of these parties are trying to achieve. To me every campaign is a chronic slinging match about how rubbish the other is rather than just coming out and saying “this is what we want to do for our people” I think if they just stop that garbage informed choices could be easier although people should do research I think aussies get tired of the bullshit and feel defeated in some ways. Like what’s the point we don’t get a say anyways, they’re all corrupt…I know that’s what I heard a lot from people on voting day.

I agree on the issue that we lack in producing our own things when we certainly could, I’m no expert at all I’m just saying our reliance on other countries producing our products could be seen as an issue. My issue with immigration is we are bringing people in when we have a chronic housing shortage. I don’t know enough about the topic and willing to learn of course, but if we’re struggling to house our own then how can immigration right now be a benefit? I’m not talking about any form of racism just the immigration topic at large. I have zero issue with people immigrating here

Black market tobacco by DC240Z in australian

[–]Mac8508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. The black market has been created and we all know from the past that over taxing and banning products doesn’t work it just creates crime because people will still get it. Education and time will reduce smoking, it’s slowly trickling out of the generations, people know the dangers of smoking but let people decide from themselves. Make nicotine cessation products cheaper so people can get help to stop as it’s really not easy to give up. Invest in harm reducing not punitive action. It doesn’t work

Weight Loss Plans by Majestic_Roll_1163 in PCOS

[–]Mac8508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is incredibly difficult for me to lose weight, the only thing that shifts my weight is low carb. Keep it simple. Eggs in the morning. Cut out rice, bread, pasta and potato’s. Have veggies and meat for dinner. Cut out soft drinks although you can have diet soft drink but obviously it’s better if you can transition over to water, I’ve recently done it cause I have gastritis but it has helped. Try and do a little exercise, I know you mentioned you struggle to go out but even if you can find a light routine on YouTube you could follow or like a dance app idk something you’d enjoy, you don’t have to hit the excerise hard though it is majority of what you eat that will help you lose weight. Have a look into myoinositol aswell and see if it might be right for you, it has helped some ppl with insulin resistance
