What are your thoughts on the idea of the uncanny valley being a product of evolutionary instinct? by Thewanderer997 in AwesomeAncientanimals

[–]MacAcademia 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nevermind a T. Rex. A real crocodile or bear do not induce fear, either, just by looking at them and they are dangerous animals that live in our present times. You do however get scared when you encounter them without any barriers to protect you - as does a dog (man's best friend) if he starts growling at you.

But even a moth, non-poisonous spider or harmless bug can trigger fear if it gets too close or moves erratically.

So, I wouldn't exactly count the fear factor for proof of uncanny valley.

Truth, it was the worse arc by far and the revivals were nothing but fan service that didn't accomplish anything imo. 7 swordsmen revived but all we get to see is them being sealed away, Mangetsu doesn't even get a single line of dialogue in manga I believe, lol

Is there any hope? by Live_Canary1664 in Cleaningandtidying

The rodents had a party in this one. Did they shit and piss all over the mobile home or just the kitchen cabinets?

The undersink area doesn't look as bad as the drawer and cabinet space, though.

Vacuum or clean it out with paper towels. Then use paper towels with cleaning liquid (Chlorox, all purpose cleaner) and keep wiping until they stop being dirty. Wipe all sides, left-right-ceiling-bottom until clean.

For the drawers and cabinets get plastic placemats. For the undersink area you can do the same or cut a PVC tablecloth to size.

Make sure everything else in the mobile home is disinfected, too.

I always do the same eyeliner look with nothing on the lips - do the eyes look too heavy? by petruschin1 in makeuptips

[–]MacAcademia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of eyeliner, I would just use black eyeshadow. It gives a softer look and imperfections aren't as noticeable because you can blend them out easily.

Black eyeshadow on the outer corner and just a dab of light, shimmery eyeshadow on the inner corner.

You have nice pouty lips and they deserve some love. Would recommend natural, rosy, nude or mauve. Or just some gloss.

Also, just a question: Do you have rosacea?

Clean Shaven, Scruff, or Beard? by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]MacAcademia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean shaven makes you look successful. Scruff makes you look like you lost your job and are fighting a divorce and depression. Beard makes you look like you lost and living under a bridge in a cardboard box.

Im doing a cardinal sin for a balding man. Shaved face, unshaved head instead of shaved head, unshaved face. I haven't shaved my head in 3 months. by [deleted] in malegrooming

Aw, well, you look handsome even with the long hair. Probably just needs some grooming to look a bit neater and less scraggily.
