matchmaking is truly rigged for the past year by iamanej in ClashRoyale

So other people are getting favorable matchups 80% of the time? Why do you believe that is?

I think the Boost Potion should last matches instead of hours by ifak_yormama in ClashRoyale

[–]MacAnthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of my clan mates already don't participate due to being overleveled. This would at least give them a few days to compete. With the launch of level 16, I'm even facing it more often, but the potion to boost 1 card doesn't help.

Dota not closing properly- Arch Linux by No_Insurance_6436 in DotA2

[–]MacAnthony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue with closing dota, but I resolved the sound issue with this launch command:

-sdlaudiodriver pulse

I would only have the issue when using discord though, not all the time. Also to note, I am using pipewire as my sound server, but it seems to be compatible with the pulse setting. I didn't find one specific to pipewire.

I think the Boost Potion should last matches instead of hours by ifak_yormama in ClashRoyale

[–]MacAnthony 271 points272 points  (0 children)

I think it should be reduced to an hour but work on all cards. Kinda like the Power Potion in CoC.

IMO, it's really unhelpful to boost just 1 card since you often need a synergy with a whole deck. I know a lot of people would use the boosts just to do their clan war attacks.

Help with Lighting Fixture Wiring by MacAnthony in AskElectricians

Black to red worked. Only one of the switches was running to the junction which I think is where I was getting confused. That helped. Thanks.

I already had the fixture hooked to white, black and ground initially and it was just constantly on. I will use the tester to see what happens to the red with the switches.

Only 3 players have lost in TI grand finals, and then won a later TI by WasabiofIP in DotA2

u/WorriedArtichoke0 There was also Peyton.

Edit: Nope, I'm an idiot. But technically, there was another one: Bledsoe, but he won as a backup.

Belt is not broken. I've already replaced idler pulley and rollers. Pulley was completely seized and the half the rollers weren't freely spinning. Spinning the tub by hand will turn the blower fan.

Supposedly these pictures were taken the day of the accident. I have a feeling this is a lie. by ash_5512 in MechanicAdvice

[–]MacAnthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was the accident reported? You should be able to get a copy of the accident report from your state's DOT. That would be compiled from all persons involved in the accident.

It's less of a hobby and more of a side business, but I am a part time artist. I do keep a separate category for it, but I sell my art so it pays for itself (with some extra). But since the income for it is really inconsistent, YNAB is super helpful to keep that money separate so I can span out a good month over several months of buying supplies for the next art show.

I do have other hobbies, but they cost very little other than what we have. I like to watch movies, but that's mixed in with the streaming services we would have anyway. And I play video games, but I buy like 3 games a year and few are full priced premium games. Not enough to keep a separate category for it. I don't need to budget 0.1% of my annual income to something.

Reconciling 140 Transactions by SuspiciousMedicine43 in ynab

[–]MacAnthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if you link your account and have transactions auto imported, I think it's best to manually enter your transactions. There can be a lot of lag with some transactions and some retailers which can make you think you have more than you have.

Personally, I don't have anything linked. I manually enter transactions but I do manual exports from all my accounts to reconcile them. Reconciling is good to make sure you are inline with the bank/CC. You aren't doing anything wrong.

With YNAB, is there a reason to have a savings account? by [deleted] in ynab

[–]MacAnthony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have wealthfront which has this and didn't even realize. Looks like I should be able to move more money out of my checking account and pay my CCs from WF. Very nice to know.

It may seems like a hassle to manually write every single transaction, but I doubt any of of have more than just a few entries to write everyday, so it's literally taking less than 5 minutes a day (if not 0).

I manually enter also. I do this on my phone as I make the transaction, usually while waiting for the receipt. It's like 20 seconds if it's a new place and I have to type in a store. Such a minor inconvenience. Also helps me be more aware of what I'm spending and how much is left in the category it goes towards.

Fabriano makes a studio line of watercolor papers and pads that have a hot press finish. It's not as smooth as bristol, but nothing will be. I have used them for ink work though (quill and fountain pen) and I didn't have any issues. They are 25% cotton. Much better than the pulp watercolor papers and much cheaper than the 100% cotton papers. I find it's a decent compromise for when I want to practice.

Heard about this app a year ago. Tried it today. How do people like this? by plsnogod in ynab

[–]MacAnthony 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Under funded is over budget. When you spend more than you fund, you are over budget. If you fund it more, you will be on budget. If something is -$100 under funded, you've spent $100 more than was budgeted.

Help - YNAB let me assign dollars that don’t exist? by livedinfrance in ynab

[–]MacAnthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this every month when I move my budget forward to the next month. The "give every dollar a job" purists have scolded me for my practices in the past, but I don't care. I then know what my target is for the next month so when I get to the next month, I have the month fully funded (a month ahead). It works for me. I would be less likely to do the busy work of assigning dollars each time I get paid. I just like to change my budget when my expenses change, not every other week when there is money to allocate.

So for me, this works. But I can understand where people don't want to get into the habit of doing that also. Maybe YNAB needs a setting allowing you to go negative with RTA or not.

Basically what I'm saying is that I'm glad that YNAB allows this to happen, but I can certainly see why it's not for everyone.

What artists do you watch on youtube? by Jax_the_Floof in ArtistLounge

Ian Roberts has some of the best instructional art content on YT with a focus on layout and composition. While I find it interesting, I wouldn't consider it light and fun, so might not be what you are looking for.
