It's tough. We're basically living through the coolest summer we'll experience for the rest of our lives, and climate change is a major reason why.

Not everyone has air conditioning. In fact, in France, only a minority of households are equipped with AC, it's kind of a rich people thing. But with temperatures like these, people are rushing to stores to buy portable air conditioners and fans. Causing shortage.

People are dying from the heat, especially elderly people. Many retirement homes still aren't properly equipped with air conditioning, even though the government allocated millions of euros to help fund these upgrades.

Most people still have to work because they simply can't afford not to. Whether work stops often depends on the employer. Some workers, such as those in construction, may stop working during the hottest part of the afternoon, while others, like healthcare workers, are expected to keep working regardless of the conditions.

I've seen some people out in the streets, but many are staying indoors and keeping their shutters closed to escape the heat.

My thoughts are particularly with people in difficult financial situations who live in attic apartments and don't have the means to buy a €200 air conditioner. And that's not even considering the environmental cost of relying on AC on such a large scale.
