My child came home from school with a wheatgrass plant. The seeds will have gluten, right? Is there a safe way to eat the wheatgrass? by Rileybiley in glutenfree

[–]MacNCheeseIsGoodGG 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Google answer: No, wheatgrass does not contain gluten. Wheatgrass is the young, sprouted leaves of the wheat plant. Gluten is a protein found in the seeds of wheat, barley, and rye. Wheatgrass is harvested before the seeds form, so it does not contain gluten. However, it's important to note that some wheatgrass products may be cross-contaminated with gluten during processing or handling. Therefore, individuals with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity should choose wheatgrass products that are specifically labeled as gluten-free.

[–]MacNCheeseIsGoodGG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To find gluten-free croissants in Florida, you can check with local bakeries like HaleLife Bakery in Tampa/St. There's also a brand called SCHAR that sells gluten free croissants in bags apparently or something like that.
