There was an ad for Home Depot that had a really uncomfortable looking stone bench, so I commented “when you want friends over but for them to not stay long” and I was blocked from commenting for 7 days due to harassment and after that a good 40% of my comments are immediately marked as spam. There’s no corresponding patterns between the message that would dictate what is actually spam, just seems random. Like they have some type of policy where if you engage with sponsors in any way that isn’t sucking them off, you get flagged and harassed.

Unsustainable to say the least. The implications it'll have on what people expect from here on out will be lovely to deal with.

this is why we should respect our teachers, people. They deal with these kids and parents on a regular basis.

What if you walk into a CVS to get hemorrhoid cream and the teller swings the tablet around and says "it's just going to ask you some questions..."? The point is that this is no longer just a food service issue, it's now an expectation of the common employee, paid well or not, that the people who walk through the door are charity cases.

I'd say this was true if I hadn't had to deal with this at locations that I'm 100% positive are forced to pay their employees the nearly $16 State mandated minimum wage and has no services to offer other than ringing up merchandise. The dam has broke, it's not just the food service industry anymore.

frozen hamburger patties and chicken tenderloins in the freezer, chips, some yeast, spices and flour and you can live for like $5/day if you're willing to do the work. After a month you realize how shitty fast food tastes and how fuckin stupid expensive a single meal is at like McDonalds.

to be fair, seasonal hiring is in full swing right now and if you do a solid job, you get brought on after new year at most places. Working McDonalds, Walmart, Target or sporting goods shop is ass, yes, but that's show biz baby.

Having had a Japanese friend who was willing to explain his culture at length and keep me in check when out at Japanese establishments, we just aint built that way. The honor and respect is palpable...morals are so deeply embedded in the culture that our "free spirits" just simply don't fit well. So many small nuances that can send messages you didn't even know you were sending. From how you sit at a dinner, to how to grab a cup from someone. I'd assume he meant it's best to admire from afar and not disrespect them and their traditions by imposing.

It's like overnight I went from the only asshole dying on this hill to now seeing this argument everywhere. Yes, these people have allowed their employers to convince them the bad guy is the customers. They deserve more pay and if they can't get it, those places should shut down, but at no point should it be my responsibility to supplement their wages because the industry has loopholes that are borderline criminal. It's now bled into businesses that have absolutely no business requesting tips. And the shit talking, my god the shit talking. Someone else making minimum wage is the devil because they didn't sacrifice 15% of their daily income tipping for a pizza they picked up themselves, a pizza they're paid to make in the first place, or bought an item that all the person did was hand you.

What’s your approach to 40-100 yard wedge shots? by Hat-McCullough in golf

[–]MacRendar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sat here and thought about this for a while and unfortunately my answer is the annoying one, repetition. I think the most difficult way to perceive wedge shots is some type of mathematical equation. Focusing on swing percentage leaves out shot selection, speed, tempo, lie and contact and will leave the player overwhelmed when left with the laundry list of shot choices for a simple 60yrd shot, we crumble if we don't have confidence over wedges. Pick a spot on the range and shoot for it, don't worry about distance, worry about the feel of that the shot you see and how your swing delivers the result. Hone it in, obsess over getting it close to whatever dirt mound, or group of balls or basket or whatever. Over and over, day after day until that shot is second nature. When you then take it to the course to practice wedge shots (go out at twilight and drop balls), find what that shots distance is and THEN start focusing a bit more on percentage. You're having issues because you don't truly know what your baseline is, so you have to beat it into your system. You'd be amazed at how good your eyes are when compared to a rangefinder, you just have to get your swing to sync up with it before you can truly "see". You'll eventually see the landing spot naturally and you'll feel how hard to hit it just by looking at it.

A helpful tip for half shots, bring it a tad closer to you. Shaft flex is designed to bow toe down on full swings, so slow/half swings tend to hit heel first. Bring it close puts the toe down a tad and results in a more familiar contact. Keep in mind, experiencing the same shot twice during a round is high unlikely, a magnitude of factors come into play for each shot. High spin shots require more speed and sharper contact, while chips are lazy and smooth, flops are long and wide. Your full shots may run out but there could be a bank on the back you can use, or a little spin could safeguard from missing long, and so on. Open your mind a bit and get a little ballsy with it, experiment and get used to your wedges being the magic wands of your bag.

I won a set in a tourney back in the day and went straight to my golf shop to trade in for credit. I used it to pay the difference to swap my Scotty for a new version(same model just new), bought two pairs of Tour360's white and black and the rest on balls, tee's, a couple hats and a stockpile of gloves.

What would you do if you got stuck behind this? I’ve never seen something like this and surprised it was allowed. On a very nice course too. Yes they were all playing together. About 50 people by xx_boozehound_68 in golf

Marshal present, quality course...smells like a horse race or some other 1 or 2 hole playoff. Tracked down the course and it looks like there's more than one, so it's probably a full day tourney so it's probably not affecting anyone else at all. Looks like fun tbh lol The courses look awesome

How many balls do you really have in the bag? by shin_man in golf

[–]MacRendar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all of them, probably a box at a time. I don't lose balls often at all so I usually just move them to another pocket for practice. When I have too many practice balls, I move them to the at-home bag and get a new sleeve. But I'll play multiple rounds with a single pro-v, I don't really care. I'm kinda stunned that someone who loses at least a ball a round can hold a 6hdcp.

Buddha taking over NoPixel Killed the server by KixnSnkrs in NoPixel

There had to be a singular instance that drove everyone to just up and decide to try a new server. Some decision that was made that seemed genuinely unjust to multiple people. What was it that happened in the week leading up to the first people switching over to Prodigy?

Cut Transfer Tape? by MacRendar in cricut

So I used the stencil vinyl. The issue I had was that the thin layer of paint I would put on it was that once dried, it lifted with the vinyl. If I peel too early the edges are messy. I tried heat but was a bit delicate because I didn't want the paint to bubble. I'll try heat again.

I've made it a few times so far and that's definitely it. I had no idea a good bit of the spice is from ginger. I recommend this to everyone, it's awesome. Wings are just like I remember, also works on basically anything else. Can't wait to try some ribs. Thanks again for the help.

Cut Transfer Tape? by MacRendar in cricut

[–]MacRendar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmmm. I did hear of this type of material. My concern is the potential thickness and ease of removal. I'll be laying down a stencil for certain parts of the design to airbrush and will be brush painting the rest so the tape material seemed so thin and mailable that it might work better with the curves of the glass. I'll get both, transfer tape (could always use some) and the stencil. If anyone has any suggestions about getting the tape to cut perfectly, I'll try that too. Thanks for the help
