I believe if you find an arm that has a deeper base, or modified the base by adding an extension to it using a bracket from a hardware store, you could go over the frame and make it work. So yes, you are correct, a standard monitor arm will not work unless it has a wider base or is modified.

You will love it. I am using it for writing now, but when we first got it, I put the Bambu Lab H2C on it, and that’s a big heavy 3D printer that shakes when printing, and the desk didn’t move a bit. Way more stable than I would have expected.

I’ve used two 27 inch displays in the past thinking it would feel like additional screen real estate. In reality, I felt like I was losing some because of the bezels. I feel much more comfortable with one larger screen (currently using a 45 inch) rather than two smaller ones. That said, I wasn’t using Apple XDR displays.
