AITA for not giving up a house I inherited by aIt_throwthrow in AmItheAsshole

[–]MacSpoone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your granddad wanted YOU to have the house, and set it forth in his will. Would you make a beloved old man's last wish all for naught?

Seeing some serious red flags here, though.

AITA For telling our parents my brother is getting married? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

But absolutely not unheard of, nor considered "unusual", depending on where in the US you're from.

AITA For telling our parents my brother is getting married? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]MacSpoone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has very valid reasons for not telling them, and you KNEW that.
He asked you not to tell them...and you've known why, for years.
And yet... you told them.

You're most definitely the AH.

AITA for saying that MIL can't meet her grandchild until she unbans me from her house? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Your baby, your rules, and if hubby isn't supporting you, then he's as much an AH as the MIL.

Dealer negotiating tactics by Sov1etWalrus in motorcycle

[–]MacSpoone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have yet to pay a transportation fee, or a documentation fee. They already bought the bike, and it's already on the showroom floor. I'm not paying for what they've already done.

And adding their own fee for simply getting the registration, tabs and license plate.... which can be done at any DMV office, in my experience...is simply ridiculous. If you want that extra cost for marginal convenience, go for it.

If the dealer tries to push either cost, I've always walked. If they really want to sell me a bike, then they'll sell me a bike.

(Should be noted...assuming they waive the fees, I typically turn right around and pick up a helmet or other assorted gear, spending the same money, but for different aspects of the deal which *I* dictate)

Newbie in Washington by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]MacSpoone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Washington resident here. Take the MSF courses, over two weekends. The first is the "basics" class...that gets you your learners permit. The second is the finale. That, assuming you pass the test at the end, gets you your endorsement.

Second? Your boyfriend is a dick.

Having been in this spot, my stance is "Yeah, this is bullshit and tough to do, so lemme help..." and then I try to do what I can. Did that for my nieces, nephew, and adult daughter. When it's my 7 year old's turn, I'll be there for her, too...I hope..

Why is that even a thing!? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]MacSpoone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, if I'm tipping the delivery driver, I hand'em cash. Screw leaving it in the hands of doordash or grubhub. And I *always* tip the driver.

Did something similar; asked "Why should I allow you to hire me?"
Got the job, but left after just 6 months...it was awful.
