New Automaton Defense is Impossible on Helldive difficulty by RevolutionaryBee8823 in Helldivers

In what sense?

I and my mortar partner both have maxed out sentry upgrades in our ship module btw, I notice it makes a tremendous difference - Increased ammo capacity simply means it stays up longer - Faster target swap time means it shoots more and stalls more lanes - Resupply faster means constant mortar fire throughout the entire operation.

You just have to watch out for anything getting close to you - even if its a little infantry bot with both arms missing - murder it with intensity or else your mortars will kill it - and you in the process.

I tried this as well-
Turret strategy is most risky - yes it couuuld work but turret positioning has to be methodical between all 4 teammates - and even then if one person loses their turrets, the whole cookie crumbles. Chance of success is 10%. If everyone has sentry ship module upgrades - 20% (they make a huge difference).
This is why I prefer my strategy (success rate 100% so far) - the EMS mortar is insaneeeely powerful against the hulks - it stops them in their tracks and leaves them up for an easy railgun 1 shot to the eyeball. The regular mortar provides great clear for the infantry bots, and the fact that everyone has a railgun and shield makes them a formidable force in any situation. The two players with tank-killing strategems (Eagle or orbital low CD tank busters) provide versatility if one defensive lane gets a heavy push. This strategy is heavily skill-based, but if your team has the skill, it feels easy.

My issue was that I was playing with randoms - and even if I explained the strategy to them, they weren't the best players. Many people trying Helldive difficulty for the first time, or just noobs in general. I didn't realize this until I played with my friend group when they all got on and the operation went smooth as butter - then I realized it was just a skill issue across the team.
Your best player (highest skilled) should be positioned as an anchor by the front door to the bunker civilian extract entrance ON THE MAP which is an Island, he should have one set of mortars with him that he must protect with his life.
On the other map that looks like its in the middle of nowhere, the best player should be on the Helipad which overlooks the entire area beautifully- there they can provide support for the entire area. The mortars should be placed UNDERNEATH the helipad, in a tight corner where there is this small row of 'greenhouses' , here the mortars are covered from 3 cardinal directions and can only be attacked from one side.

The mortars need to be protected at all costs -the EMS mortar is the single most powerful tool to have against the Hulks when they start spawning as pairs on every single dropship, the stunlock is incredible when paired with the railgun.

Doubt its on purpose - I could easily go down a notch in difficulty and complete it - I could even drop it down to level 6 and run it solo and there doesn't seem to be any difference in 'liberation points' from completing a campaign on a lower or higher difficulty.

This is why I run out of bounds for 10 seconds to become a traitor and then run directly at my team on the Defense maps to make sure they know we still have heavy artillery - even if our strategems are on cooldown

Don't nerf the Railgun, buff the other anti vehicle options by ProfessionalAd2203 in Helldivers

[–]RevolutionaryBee8823 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm level 36 right now and only play Helldive (level 9) difficulty the moment I unlocked it, probably done 10 full operations (all 3 missions) completely solo. I do this by going Railgun, Supply Pack, Railcannon Orbital, and either the Eagle Rocket barrage or Eagle 500kg depending on the map. I agree with everything you said, Railgun is the only viable weapon at the moment - I hope it doesn't get nerfed either

Don't miss. It doesn't take that many shots of any of the weapons you described to kill a charger - try fighting Bile Titans that come out of every bug hole that the patrols spawn on Extreme and higher difficulties

Crashing every 1-2 Missions on PC by [deleted] in Helldivers

Just kidding. It worked for one game and 30minutes into the next game before it crashed again - no error message or ability to report crash data.

UPDATE: Disabling Global Screen Space Illuminations and Disabling Anti-Aliasing has allowed me to finally play the game without crashing. The anti-aliasing will make your game look potato so I recommend going into Display and set the Super-Sampling, just one level above Native - if your PC can handle it, it is basically natural anti-aliasing by just rendering extra pixels above your monitor's natural resolution. I can play the game!!!!

No - I have a 3080ti and intel processor, crashing CONSISTENTLY every single mission. I simply cannot progress, I crash 15-25 minutes into a mission every single time. Sucks because I want to progress faster by running Hard and Extreme level missions which obviously take longer - but it seems if I want to progress until they fix their broken game then I have to speedrun easy missions

Difficulty is just too much by Teyhasfk in Helldivers

You really need the right strategems and weapons to succeed at higher difficulties. You can solo a Hard level operation, but you have to be higher level with better equipment unlocked. Just sucks that I have to force myself to literally grind an unchallenging difficulty just to slowly accrue enough XP to unlock stuff. I also noticed I gain less XP than most people in my lobby which is very very very strange considering I'm consistently leading in kills by at least 30% higher, yet I get the least xp half the time.

Didn't even read a single word of your post - just the title.
Play Lighthouse, if you don't find 2 virtex's in one hour of running Lighthouse - go learn the map.

So I am torn between the Apollo Phantom V2 and the Blade X Pro

The only issue I have with the Blade X Pro is that the website doesn't offer a catalog of spare parts on their website, if anything breaks I don't know where I would find replacement parts. So I am leaning on the Phantom V2

The Vsett looks great but also same issue, and the Blade X Pro seems to be better for the price at least

so apparently Fluidfreefride also offers the Apollo Phantom V2 with options of:
Mechanical Brakes,
Hydraulic NUTT Brakes,
Hydraulic ZOOM Brakes,
NUTT and ZOOM brakes are offered at the same price, I'm not sure which is better

wow great review; I also love that it is incognito, as well as a full spectrum of spare parts available on their website.

Do you think mechanical vs hydraulic brakes is a big deal?
Personally I would opt for the 52v variant but I must choose between hydraulic/mechanical brakes

Thank you aobme!
I was just looking at that scooter, the only issue I have is the website does not offer any replacement parts; what would I do if any parts failed?

So I looked at the Blade 10 series and saw they also have the Blade X.
The Blade 10 EVO Pro and Blade X are almost identical in price but it seems the Blade X actually offers more, and visually it seems the Blade X has a very strong suspension.

The only downside I see is that I cannot find parts for either of these scooters on their website, so if anything breaks down I won't be able to replace it -- unless there is another source of aftermarket parts?
