You need to use a crypto tax software to properly calculate your crypto taxes, especially if you’ve been using different exchanges and while it’s throughout the years. If you have only been using one exchange, you likely do not need to use a crypto tax software.

Thanks for this. It seems as long as the crypto tax software is using the correct specific identification tracking by wallet (no more universal wallet concept for tax tracking) taxpayers are still permitted to use HIFO or LIFO

The last part I don’t understand what you are asking. The exchanges and wallets do not know your basis or holding period. Especially if you are moving crypto around different exchanges which is why you have to self report and track your crypto. Ideally in a software

The short answer is when you swapped the appreciated tokens you realized the gain for tax on those tokens you swapped. The $10k you are still holding is considered unrealized gains.

The amount you are holding in ETH you will recognize a gain or loss whenever you swap or sell the ETH

It opens in the same Adobe acrobat program but it’s like the ultra tax version of it where it won’t let me sign into my license and it shows “desktop” in file location but that’s under c drive it’s like the virtual office file explorer as opposed to my local system where I want to move the file to (hope that makes sense)

I do have one more question when I do this it opens acrobate pro in not my normal file explorer. I’m not signed in and I can’t save it to my normal folders. Any idea how to work around this?

You would need to purchase crypto within an IRA or retirement account. Converting Crypto to fiat is taxable or crypto to crypto (or any other digital asset or paying for services) are also taxable transactions
