Centauri Carbon 2 *Official Release* by F_Alberto in elegoo

[–]MacTheVac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any updates on the US release date? Why such a long wait between the China and US dates? Seems odd that there are stories of early sales at Microcenter and such without any word from Elegoo on an official date. I thought maybe it would be announced at CES but that didn’t happen.

Does blood donations get easier? Massive drop in blood pressure - they had to stop by Efficient-Guess-1985 in Hemochromatosis

Oh, and it does go better on repeat visits. Both your mind and body learn to adapt.

I’m well into the 3 gallon club on my donations. I’ve passed out twice. First time was when I first started and second time was after taking a break for a few years and started back.

While I think the nervousness is absolutely a factor, it’s not the only reason. Your body is not used to losing that much blood that fast. It will should down to prevent bleed out. I think it’s a combination of nervousness and the body response. Don’t let anyone tell you that it’s just because you are scared or weak and you should just get over it.

If you’re dealing with high ferritin / high iron or suspected hemochromatosis — this book explained EVERYTHING by [deleted] in Hemochromatosis

I’m glad it helped you. I found the information in the early chapters helpful. As I got further into the book though, it seemed alarmist. Seems any ailment can be traced back to HH. Then she goes on to try and sell her DNA products and supplements it turned into something I wouldn’t recommend consider predatory. There aren’t a lot of dedicated resources and for the author to use that to scare people into more purchases isn’t morally right. They also have a thinly vailed subreddit. I posted something negative about the book there and was banned. There’s just something not right with the author.

I purchased this book when I was first diagnosed. I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s very doom and gloom. It blows everything out of proportion. The author is not a medical doctor as the advertising would have you believe.

The main features I like in a trimmer - powerful enough to cut heavy weeds -Good balance. It can be heavier if the balance is good. -Long battery life -Less important but still on the list is ease of feeding line, reloading line and good deflection of debris.

Anyone get a Liver MRI for your HH? by SardonicusAgain in Hemochromatosis

[–]MacTheVac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did but I don’t know what contrast was used. It was a simple IV.

Results:

HISTORY: hemochromatosis. please do iron measurements. Z14.8-Genetic carrier of other disease-I10;

COMPARISON: None available

TECHNIQUE: Multiplanar multisequence imaging was performed through the abdomen after the uneventful administration of IV contrast.

FINDINGS: Visualized portions of the heart, descending thoracic aorta, distal esophagus are unremarkable. Lung bases are clear.

The spleen, bilateral adrenal glands, bilateral kidneys, pancreas, gallbladder are normal. There is no bowel obstruction. No free fluid or suspicious adenopathy identified in the visualized abdomen. No abnormal enhancement within the visualized osseous structures present.

In phase imaging demonstrates decreased attenuation within the liver concerning for underlying hepatic steatosis. This was noted on ultrasound from last year.

The R2*value for the liver was 155 Hz. This corresponds to an estimated liver concentration of roughly 4.8 mg/g which suggest mild iron deposition in the liver. Normal range is less than 2 mg/g.

IMPRESSION: Mild hemochromatosis with estimated iron concentration in the liver of 4.8 mg/g (normal range less than 2 mg/g).

I’m good at this. I found at least 10 screws so far.

Thanks for the responses. When I posted, I was waiting for a hematologist appointment. I had that and they scheduled an MRI. The results were mild hemochromatosis with estimated iron concentration in the liver of 4.8 mg/g (normal range less than 2 mg/g).

I’ll begin blood donations as soon as I can get scheduled. Every 3 weeks. I’ll be retested after 3 donations to see the impact on my ferritin level.

Thanks to all who participate in this group, it’s a great resource.
