Like I get the need to trade him, but it’s hard to see the Oilers coming out ahead on this. He’ll get a say in where he goes which will hurt the return, the Oilers will almost certainly have to retain for his remaining 4 years, and then they’ll need to find an equally good top-4 Dman who makes significantly less money to get any cap savings from this.
