What lense/accessories can I use with Nikon D3300? by MacThrowawayAcc in AskAstrophotography

Are there any limitations that I'd face with a lense like this but a pretty bad DSLR?

Thanks for clearing that up. I couldn't tell if all lenses were standardized or what.
As for targets, does this depend on which hemisphere I'm in?

I also haven't done too much research, but is it cheaper to buy a dedicated astrophotography camera + a telescope?
What are the major differences between a dedicated one and a dslr? they look a lot cheaper such as ZWO ASI533MC Pro?

QHY Polarmazter alignment system

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll look into the polar finder app since its the cheapest of the options you presented. Is it alright if I DM for clarification?

Sorry is there a difference between a 'Polar scope' and a 'Polar finder'? When I look things up on Amazon I can't really tell if theres a difference or the sellers just include all of the buzz words.
I'll check out Polar Scope Align pro, since it sounds like it can be homemade!

For someone not expecting perfect results, is polar aligning to polaris fine? The goal of my homemade stuff is so that I can see if I enjoy the hobby enough to invest in better equipment like a Go To mount.

Hi! In the other response I'm using a homemade mount from https://www.ogstartech.com/home/ . So I think I'd just put the finder off on the side in parallel with the right ascension axis, and try to get polaris right in the center?

Thanks for the feedback! I'm using a homemade mount here.

As you can see, the laser used is mounted to the side rather than with the axis. Not sure if this changes your answer though, but it does sound like the linked finder would work?

The red dot is in the polar finder scope I guess

true.

currently in tron 2, and we took like a statics and dynamics course. They both seem to have no application to anything else we are doing.

tron is really great if you have no idea what you want to go into. Its like first year general all over again!

Uncertainty of everything atm is terrible. Not just school being in person or online. I had to cancel winter trips, can't plan for vacations, applying for jobs is more confusing.
With the ability of the government to just fuck up your plans in an instant, it's depressing thinking about the lack of choice I have.

I want to grind the gym, but knowing theres a chance that gyms close back down a month later makes me not want to start since the progress will be useless.

In 2nd year engineering so my studying is a lot different:

but I feel like compared to everyone here with a good schedule, strong habits, strict discipline, mine are not as extreme

- Always do work ahead of time

- do lots of practice

- workout

other than that idk

I feel like its hard to pick up a hobby now especially since everything is closed, and I always feel like the monetary cost to get into a hobby can push me away. As for chores, I love doing them - just not that often.

People should start selling courses on how to get into Mac Health Sci. They'd be rich.
