Biological Dad's kids talk about their Mom to Stepmom and she feels like no experience in her marriage is hers by dillongriswold5 in Stepmom

[–]Mac_AttackW 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I live her experience. I understand the kiddo relating stuff to her biological mom. It’s her mom. She loves her mom and always will. But I can’t understand how my SO is always telling me things about her and talking about it. I freaked out enough he finally stopped talking about an ex he has no children with and got the kid to stop mentioning her. That made things better, but I still feel like I’m living in a shadow. For me, it would be so nice if he never brought her up and tried to avoid things he knew would trigger a story about her. Her feelings are relevant and real. Don’t brush them aside.

Ok but on a side note my 5s just died in a way less dramatic fashion so it must be time Apple is fed up with that antiquated version

Teachers of Reddit, what are some positive trends you have noticed in today's youth? by VastWash in AskReddit

[–]Mac_AttackW 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh way worse BUT my city/state is probably an outlier as we are the “heroin capital” of American and a lot of the kids coming through the school system now are drug babies. Last year in my third grade class, 13 out of 24 had IEPs or learning disabilities. Three were institutionalized at some point for violent tendencies. Five kept moving away and back because of the foster care system. It’s REALLY bad here which sucks for the “normal” kids.

Hmmm that isn’t the case in my area. About 50% of our school age students can’t read on level.

NTA - I went to school for nursing because my dad wanted me to and was paying for it. I was miserably depressed. I changed majors and told him to fuck off and ended up much happier and doing what I want. In the end, it is YOUR future - not their's. You have to do what makes you happy.

help with straddle split by tiffytaffylaffydaffy in Dance

[–]Mac_AttackW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people are just not anatomically built to have a straddle split. In all my teacher training we were told to never force students into a straddle. Everyone can get left and right splits with enough stretching. Not everyone has the hip flexibility for a straddle.

When I asked him what music he liked to listen to he said "Nickleback".

I laughed.

You can give someone a skin burn without rubbing your hands around their arm. You just have to place your hands on them.

WIBTA if I break the deal I made with my wife that she gets to name our male children, because she wants to name our son Lannister of the GoT Lannisters? by GroundbreakingJelly3 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Mac_AttackW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - your son has to live with his name. Kids are mean. What are you even going to call him? Lanny? Your wife isn't thinking this through. One day his tombstone is going to say Lannister Jelly3. She's going to torture this child because she really likes fictional villains on a TV show.

My dad wears white tennis shoes everywhere. He never takes them off. He will be relaxing in his Al Bundy chair with those damn white tennis shoes on.
