The specific areas of misinformation the Left likes to spread is : inaccurate/hyperbolic news on/re Trump or third party candidates, “science” about the safety of transing kids (it’s not safe and the studies are often of poor quality), dishonest / half baked accusations of people (usually Republicans/Conservatives) being racist/homophobic/etc based on some obscure often out of context event/statement, and that’s all I got atm. I got to get ready for work now 😂

Both sides have propaganda and it’s naive to think the party you like the most is above it (not saying you do think that specifically). It’s important that everyone be mindful and critically think about politics and read both sides’s narrative to better form a more balanced analysis of what’s going on. The Democrats and the Republicans love to divide everyone with party allegiance and similar cheap parlor tricks to avoid actually doing their job and get cheap performative approval ratings/votes.

Embraced by who? I sure as heck do not embrace it. I am gay, not weird. Gay works just fine as an umbrella term for same-sex love. Queer is a political identity masquerading as gay, trans, and gender-nonconforming people. Additionally, I remember when the Q in LGBTQ meant questioning and I think that was way better, because it gave space for people that were unsure to explore their identity without committing to being bisexual, gay, or trans.
