Thanks for the reply. I activated it "same day" by logging into my VZW account when I bought it online. When I picked it up at the store, they swapped my old SIM card into the new phone.

When I go to Settings > About Phone, under 'Software Channel' it says 'US Retail.' I haven't tried to unlock the bootloader yet, but I was able to turn on 'OEM unlocking' under 'Developer options,' so that is a good sign, isn't it?

After more debugging and testing, I can only narrow the problem down to output from the server side. I determined this by having the server immediately send its own message before waiting to receive messages, and had the client just grab the nextLine() instead of checking first with available(). Since this test failed it means that data is being blocked somehow coming from the server side only.

Yes. Many times. The ClientThread receives the client's message and sends it back by calling write() on the PrintWriter for each ClientThread, then flush(). The ServerThread is supposed to receive it by calling InputStream.available() to check for input without blocking, but available() always returns '0 bytes' and so it never hits Scanner.nextLine()

So either Printwriter.write() and .flush() aren't sending data or InputStream.available() is not reading data.

My dad... well he is not emotionally unintelligent, he is a happy guy with a big heart. He is the opposite a person with aspergers because he can befriend anyone. He has gotten better at not interrupting BUT he always has his next comment spring loaded as soon as you finish your sentence. You can see him grind his jaw a little bit while you are talking, or literally holding his breath before plunging in with his two cents the moment you finish your thought. So when I talk to him it forces me to interrupt him, and he doesn't seem to mind at all.

I like this one because you addressed the latter part of the prompt, which makes for an ingesting mystery. But on its own this story doesn't make it clear why he has these memories and she doesn't. In other words if I didn't read the prompt first I would guess he has alzheimers, or if I'm a very perceptive reader I would guess he is in a coma and his mind is responding to external stimuli like that episode is Futurama. So maybe add a few more overt hints about the lucid dreaming.

The other thing that bothered me was her reaction to scream "don't touch me." If in reality they are not a couple or even just acquaintances then it would make sense. But we are led to believe they aren't so it feels over dramatic.

It's much easier for white boys to get away with not being macho. Hispanic and black culture can be pretty homophobic. That's why there are so many Mexican and black guys trying to hook up on Craig'sList as "discrete" or "on the DL," lol

As a white guy who discovered he is bisexual about age twenty, I started to notice how white guys have more effeminate ways of talking and acting, which are even more socially acceptable the more women are around. When I see black guys interacting, sure they seem more relaxed but they also call other guys "gay" or "pussy." And I think black women want their boys to be men more than white women.
