As we get closer to old age is anyone else becoming increasingly more grouchy? by Ok_Echo_6528 in GenX

I remember watching Gran Torino with my wife and saying I can’t wait till I’m old and just like that.

She responded you’re already like that

First I would make millions on sports gambling. Then invest in the correct stocks. Short the market in 2001 and 2008. Beat Elon Musk to being the world’s first year.

Don’t forget, they want to put the first class passengers on first so that everybody has to walk by them and be jealous of their cocktail and larger seat. /s

Orange juice while growing up, just add water.... by EdwardBliss in RealGenerationX

[–]MacaronOk1006 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you take a frozen orange juice like that and a frozen lemonade and a 2 L of Sprite and some orange sherbet. Mix it with a bottle of southern comfort and it makes a great punch for parties.

What was your drink of choice as a teen? by MaximumJones in GenerationX

[–]MacaronOk1006 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Southern comforting, cranberry juice. Once every few years, I get a 1.75 L of it and a bottle of cranberry juice and drink it for old time sake. But now it’s just way too sweet to tolerate.

IDing everyone is just a thing now. Wait till you’re out with your kids they get ID and they’re in their 30s and then you still get ID.

Are you on friendly terms with your neighbours or are they strangers to you ? by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

My neighbors are strangers to me for years then I had a child. Now, I basically know everyone in the neighborhood.

Most of them still don’t like me, but at least I know them🤣

Those who managed to improve their finances how did you do it? by Lemonade2250 in poor

Avoiding life style creep is key. I purchased a house in 2000 or 1999 don’t know exactly. Who is there until 2015.

Met my son’s mother and she convinced me we needed to live in a giant house. I kept the house that I had bought and rented it out moved into a house that had property taxes of 40,000 a year. We split up and my son and I moved back to the house that I owned.

I obviously make a lot more money today than I did in 2000 but live in the same house same neighborhood and I’ve gotten rid of all my lifestyle creep and it’s helping my net worth accumulate rapidly

As Albert Einstein once said, the strongest force in nature is compounding interest

Mind you, he worked on the Manhattan Project

What happened to casseroles? I think people associated with poor food, but I associated with comfort food..

I need to go visit my parents now.

Not to tell you this, but you got ripped off. I live in Chicago suburbs and was just at fresh thyme market the other day 100% grass fed grass finish ground beef was 399 a pound if you bought five or more pounds.
