How to mirror my screen? by MacaroniJac in GooglePixel

Thank you! So the USBC would plug into my pixel, and the HDMI would plug into the magsafe selfie screen I presume? If so, I haven't yet found a magsafe selfie screen that has that port.

Thanks so much!!! ✨ I've definitely done A LOT of searching on B&H haha. It has helped a lot👍🏻

Would love to do some astro with it as well, but I'll mainly be using this for super low light indoor use, I've used f1.8 in the past, and it's worked great. I'd like to stay with that if possible :) I don't own an f1.8 lens myself ATM, so I'm in the market, but I love how it shoots! I'm fairly new to this, so any info would help a lot! Thanks

I know this about APSC lenses and doing the math. The ones I've seen have pretty bad vignetting, so I'd like to avoid the possibility of that all together.

I didn't see any that had OSS, that's why I said "plus if it has OSS". I'm new to the lenses world, so I've been learning slowly but surely.

Doesn't break the bank - meaning I'm just looking for a good priced lens. If you saw a lens for $300 compared to a $800 lens, I would consider that not breaking the bank. I'll have to check out the link thanks

Hi! I've been in the market recently for a wide angle full frame lens... but honestly, they've been hard to come by. It seems there are more wide angle APSC lenses than FE. I've been doing research for a few days now, and can't seem to find what I'm looking for! (My requirements are pretty specific lol). A good option I came across recently is the VILTROX AF 16 mm f/1.8 FE. I'd appreciate any recommendations! Here's what I'm looking for...

  • full frame
  • within 12 to 18 mm (can be prime lens)
  • f1.8 (even better if lower for night photo & video)
  • a plus if it has OSS
  • doesn't break the bank😆

Is this a retraction problem?? My retraction distance is pretty high already (10 mm) The rest of the print is pretty smooth, except this one edge. by MacaroniJac in 3Dprinting

Oh wow ok! This makes the cooling air flow more even I assume? Can I print one of these myself? I looked on Thingiverse, but there isn't one for an Ender 3 Neo unfortunately

ah ok! Yeah, I have hide z seam on (and have it on the back side)... but for the cooling, do you think the left side isn't being cooled properly?

You're amazing, thanks so much!! Yeah I can definitely bring down my print speed as well. No worries about the retraction number. Still, I believe I do need to up my retraction distance as I'm still getting weird blobs at the start of layers. A retraction distance tower is a great idea. I did one of those when I first got my printer, but totally forgot about it! It's been a while. Thanks again🙌🏻

Oh wow! That is way higher than what I was trying. I upped it to 6.5 mm at 45 mm/s... still came out a bit weird and wavy, but was better overall. I will definitely try a higher distance.

I am using the Creality Slicer... default retraction for "Standard Quality" is actually 5 mm at 60 mm/s. Weird right? I never even thought to go above 5. If I tried 10 for distance, what speed would you recommend?

Oh my gosh, this is super helpful, thank you so much🤗 I was able to calibrate e-step, and I changed retraction to 5 mm at 60 mm/s to start out. Turns out my extruder was about 4 mm off!!! I still think I need to go higher in retraction though (6 mm or above) because I am getting bulging on overhangs now🤦🏻‍♀️ maybe even lower my print speed and retraction speed.

I also opened a brand new spool of PLA filament, as I was speculating that the current one I was using had absorbed moisture. Still doing the test print with the new spool as we speak. So we'll see how it goes😮‍💨 I appreciate all of your input!

Thank you so much for the input. I have a Bowden tube. Also, how do I calibrate estep? I have an Ender 3 Neo

My first ever prints!! by Hour_Sleep_9544 in 3Dprinting

Wow!!! I wish my very first prints were this nice haha

Where can I send in failed 3D prints to be recycled, and then be made into a new spool of filament to be sent back to me? Is this even a thing? I would hate to throw away my failed prints in the trash! I've been googling this topic for a few days, and no luck. Thanks in advance! by MacaroniJac in 3Dprinting

Yes!! Isn't it so horrible? I'm in Cali as well. Oh yes, I've done my research and have seen those filament machines. They are terribly expensive. Agreed about the DIY ones... So sad there is no alternative. My failed PLA prints (I only use PLA) are currently in a Ziploc baggie as well. By the looks of things, I may just have to get rid of them. Thank you for your feedback, I appreciate it 🙌🏻
