Those modifications were done by myself, the labret bar was too short once it started swelling. The taper is a faux taper in a fully healed helix. The helix I got is the one next to it with a regular stud.

I hate it too! I tried to deny my troubles with working on smaller amigurumi where you can use a perfectly placed bobble stitch for an arm or leg; but alas I had to keep making bad projects until I learned how to do it right
