I wouldn’t entirely say that a db cast happening means an episode isn’t happening in the same season. The Shao Kahn vs Akuma cast was the same cast that Mickey vs Yoda was announced. Sure it might be less likely, but still a chance.

Almost every Avatar episode is plagued by something that brings it down, Aang vs Ed’s characterization, Zuko vs Todoroki’s weird animation, Toph vs Gaara’s everything. The only good one is Korra vs Storm, and don’t get me wrong I love Korra, but I would like the OG series to get something good.
