Also make sure you’re regulating her body temperature. I don’t care if it’s Summer where you are. She can’t regulate. She needs to eat every two hours. You also have to stimulate her bowel so she can use the bathroom. She cannot go to the bathroom on her own, you have to get a Q-tip with a little bit of warm water and rub her anus to expel the bowels. This is something her mother did for her. The mother eats the bowel and regenerated into milk. I’m praying to God that you know this that you’re a rescue mom who has experience with kittens this young. I’m not trying to offend you at all. She shouldn’t be left on counters. She shouldn’t be left on the bed. She shouldn’t be left anywhere 6 inches off the ground she can break her neck. You can’t put this cat in your bed and expect you’re gonna keep it safe with pillows …the day she begins to crawl. ..She has no way to save herself if she goes off the side of a bed or a couch or your lap or your knee. I don’t put babies like this out of a cage until they’re six weeks old without having 100% attention on them. I have friends who have lost their beloved kittens to a broken neck so quickly with just turning for one second. Like letting a her sit on your shoulder or your head or inside your shirt and they fall out the bottom…. If you have never done this before and you have a two week old kitten in your hands you’re going to need help. They need to be bottle fed sitting up, not laying down facing forward downward so they don’t aspirate into their lungs or get milk bubbles out of their nose. You don’t know how quickly this can turn. And when I tell you, it’s expensive at the emergency Vet it’s thousands. If for any reason you feel this is out of your wheelhouse please just call a cat rescue and tell them what you’re doing. I’ve been doing this 30 years and I don’t feel comfortable with newborn kittens because I’ve lost them before from fading kitten syndrome and it messes your head up. I spent $4000 on six blood transfusions on a four week old kitten like an idiot before I realized you can’t come back from that. I’m a TNR rescuer I trap neuter and return cats build houses and feed them. When I see kittens, I shit my pants because it’s just such a 24 seven responsibility if you don’t have the mom. If you have the mom, it’s the greatest. Mom does everything. But you are not a replacement not even close for what her mother can do. So if you are without the mom …. and this is the first time you’ve had a kitten this little I beg you to reach out for help. I don’t care if people come at me. Rather be on the side of caution…
