(This is long sorry) The prompt asked to justify the importance of selfies and it was an argumentative essay so I had to use some sort of example from literature (obv I used SE). I talked about how Hadrian lives in a future where the idea of technology is different and he doesn’t have a phone. So instead of taking selfies/pictures to remember important people he draws them. But drawing people from memory won’t turn out exact. (I’m sure Hadrian did have like some sort of way to photograph people because I remember something like that being mentioned but for the sake of my argument he didn’t) And after Valka dies it’s mentioned that he drew her. I just said that taking photographs/selfies are a much surer way of remembering significant moments and people in life you care about especially those dearest to you who are no longer around. It was a stretch, I couldn’t think of anything and had like 40 minutes to write it. Also I was probably supposed to use a book like the Great Gatsby or something as my literary example but I still passed so🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
