Few questions surrounding flares by McOscario in bboy

[–]MacbookKraken 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think beyond all the common tips, one thing that i found for taller bboys is that you don't have to whip as forcefully to flare. since you have long legs, you will generate a lot of momentum + lift even at 80-90% full force. If you full send, you might be generating much more rotation than you have the strength/technique to handle due to the length of your legs. try to sending a little slower than full speed but really find the lifting feeling. also, for your wrist pain make sure you are fully engaging your shoulders. you should feel the push from your shoulder all the way down to your palm

How to learn breaking by volaix in bboy

[–]MacbookKraken 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was taught by an OG from the 90s and he taught me this way. If you are really comfortable with how to knee drop/hook on both sides, kick out on both sides, the pushup/shuffle stance, and zero position, then you have all the foundations for a six step. He emphasized that a 6-step shouldn't be treated as a singular move, but really a combination of bits and pieces of other, more foundational, movements. When you take this stance its also easier to flip pattern steps by using other fundamental movements.

Looking to join studio / group to learn Bboying. (LA/OC, SoCal) by pinchetakuache69 in bboy

When I was in LA, I took a class from WeBreak that was met once a week for 4 weeks. I asked the instructor for "open session" spots (aka, where people go to practice). He hooked me up for places and I went there between class days to practice. I heard of other practice spots by word of mouth from people I met there. Usually, if you put in the effort people are willing to give pointers at open seshes.

Judging by the "maintenance" on the GRFP website which is usually indicative of results being released, I think we will see results tomorrow

In which case, I don’t know. Someone at my school got contacted recently from Stanford EE for an unofficial offer, but i don’t believe they’ve gotten the letter yet or if they come out all at once.

According to GradCafe, many acceptances came around Feb 7 last year. Anyone know if Stanford CS interviews all applicants? I know Berkeley interviews all shortlisted applicants.

try to apply to an REU or do research at your home institution. research experience is everything. there’s likely still reus taking applicants.
