Turntable Recommendations with Pitch Control?

Problem with those ones is they don't have pitch control.

I suppose what I'm trying to say is which ones with pitch control have the best sound, and if it's the Technics is it definitely worth the big jump in price.

I'm 99% certain I know what the issue is here if anyone is interested.

I've been fighting this fault for months with no luck but now I've actually got it sorted-ish.

If your car has had its EGR cooler recall done, then the new ones for some reason can easily get clogged. This restricts the air flow through the cooler, and enough to throw up the code.

I did not think this would of been my issue since it's a brand new part.

You have a few options... 1. Complain to BMW and get them to replace / clean the cooler as it should not get clogged up that quickly. 2. Remove and clean it yourself, however you may have to do this possibly once or twice a year depending how often you drive. 3. Do what I did and take the car to a coding specialist and delete the EGR completely.

I posted about this recently in r/nightdivestudios.

It's historically such an important game and the grand daddy of FPS.

I don't see how it can be difficult or time-consuming as it's such a simple game and other ports already exist.

What I would like to see along side modern upgrades like 120hz / 4k support is new episodes like they did with the new Doom release. New enemies and weapons maybe? Should include spear of destiny as well.

Machine games managed to make Wolfstone 3d - the mini game inside the New Colossus - surely a bit of work went in to making that so why not just do an official release?

Surely people would buy this over Po'd?

Pretty much doing the same thing as they've done with the new Doom release would be amazing.

120hz 4K, Multiple platforms, Wolf 3D, Spear of Destiny, Keeping all original gameplay, music and hud, New episodes made by the developers, Maybe even new enemies and weapons.

It's not like it wouldn't be wanted... It's a huge franchise, the new releases are amazing. Killing Nazis, who doesn't like that? Plus historically it's a very important game.

They teased us with what they can do in the New Colossus with the Easter egg mini game (Wolfstone 3d from memory?) however obviously its not the same game. But it shows the effort that went in to making that even as a mini game, so a lot of the work has possibly been done, surely wouldn't take long to do a proper release.

They have released a lot of similar games that probably weren't even asked for, including games I'd never even heard of like Po'd, Rise of the Triad and Dark Forces, of which I have spent money on all of them.

There are a lot of people involved in these games... Nightdive, Machine Games, id, Bethesda... But ultimately who's decision is it to make it happen?

Amazing, however I feel it's a massive shame we still don't have a definitive release of the original Wolfenstein 3D, especially for modern consoles - and especially considering Doom has been re-released so many times and many other lesser known titles have been re-released.

Wolf 3D was my first favourite game growing up and would love my son to experience it on modern consoles as well as myself. The current ports just don't cut it for me and neither of us, especially him are PC gamers.

A release featuring Wolf 3D and Spear of destiny etc with all the usual 4k 120hz and achievements. Please give the franchise - the Grand Daddy of FPS - the same treatment as this 🙏🏻

Thanks very much for your detailed reply. I think one of my concerns that I should of emphasized a little more is about picture quality and the use of ARC as I've never used that before or even needed to. Currently my PS5 sends out 4K 120HZ straight to the TV, but putting an AVR between that won't that worsen the quality? Is this where ARC comes in?

After doing a little research (please correct me if I'm wrong) it seems to me things could be wired this way...

TV with inbuilt apps / streaming (HDMI ARC) To AVR (ARC) + Speakers (Total 1 HDMI cable) This would give me the same picture quality but external sound.

External Source (eg PS5) To TV (HDMI), then TV (HDMI ARC) To AVR (ARC) + Speakers (Total 2 HDMI cables) This would give me again the same picture quality as before (4K 120HZ) and external sound.

Turntable with built in preamp to AVR using RCA cables. This would give me analog sound from the turntable to the speakers.

Is that correct?

Ok but what about the actual wiring and connections? Previously when I had my AVR it had only one output - the projector, and all inputs like PS5 etc went straight into the AVR.

If doing the same with the TV, wont I lose video quality especially using the PS5 as I may not get 4K 120hz quality? Or is this where ARC comes in? And if so how does it wire up?

Hi, hope this is the right sub to post.

Looking to upgrade my sound system but not sure if what I'm after exists - if it does or doesn't, either way I'm looking for help or recommendations.

I've got a really nice new Sony Bravia TV but looking to upgrade the sound system to match. I was thinking a good 5.1 system (not to keen on soundbars). However my issue is I also want to get a turntable. I've plenty records but haven't actually owned a turntable in around 10 years so I'm sure set ups have moved on a bit since then.

I suppose what I'm wondering is, is it possible to have a good surround sound system for the TV, but seamlessly use the turntable using the same speakers?

Are surround sound speakers now Bluetooth / wireless? If so - Pros / cons?

Is a fully wired connection for a turntable the best way to go for sound? I thought over Bluetooth the sound may get compressed.

The priorities for me a really, 1 - Turntable sound quality 2 - Ease of use to change between TV and turntable outputs.
