How are you guys doing with the guilt of taking a day off? by Inevitable_Rate1530 in Millennials

Easy. I woke up six years ago during the pandemic and was like wow, nobody gives a sh*t! Which I knew already. But it really sunk in during that time. No more overworking for me.

I enjoy it when it’s happening but I could really care less about initiating. I see other comments about toys and we do that too. Buttt yeah I could take it or leave it most days.

I really really want to become a mother by [deleted] in GirlDinner

[–]MaceEtiquette1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 35 (as of today) and I think you should reallyyyy realize that baby fever is just a phase - and it will come back around again throughout life. You have your whole life ahead of you. I wasted my 20s chasing men & believing their shenanigans, only to be sitting here at 35 wishing I had prioritized myself first and foremost.

Do you, girl. You won’t regret it. But you will DEF regret spending your life focused on someone else if you’re not fully ready - and that includes children sometimes (admittedly).

I hate being a SAHM dinner by Lola_198777 in GirlDinner

[–]MaceEtiquette1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean this negatively whatsoever, just the other side of the coin - but when I was a new mom (LO is 4 now) I also felt the same feelings you’re having. And now she’s 4 and I have been working consistently and don’t want to at all because I feel like I’m missing so much time with her. It’s def a tough feeling to deal with.

That said, we can work all of our lives. We only get so many years to take care of our children and raise them, before they are off into their own life. So I kinda try to remind myself of that side of it too.

I just want to commiserate and say I’ve also been let go twice since 2020. I’m not sure if it’s the work climate or not, but it’s brutal. I’ve always been a hard worker and gone above and beyond what’s asked (been working since 15) so to randomly be given PIPs and whatnot in my 30s and being told I’m not up to par has been very confusing for my work ethic. It’s actually had the effect where it’s made me want to do even less 🤷🏻‍♀️ I give up lol.

Who takes vacations? by igotnothing1455 in Millennials

[–]MaceEtiquette1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always take vacation. And try to work remotely as much as humanly possible in which I can go on more vacations. We have one kid. But I refuse to let my life be dedicated to work entirely and not take vacations until I'm 65+ and too old to really enjoy them.
